There is a girl in my school i can absolutely not stand. She drives a Mustang gt that she has not paid a dime on. She proceeds to tell how she beats all these cars racing. Well, i am getting a nissian 300zx and what i really wanted to know is what are my chances of outrunning her? I am getting a stock one but i am going to put in a twin turbo
and then i know i will beat her. Her mustang in a 96 or 97 and it is stock. Only reason i am asking is becouse i would love to put this girl to shame. |

the stock ones have about 220hp-240hp (i think) and with twin turbos... whoo. youd have 100+ hp, easily enough to becat a stock gt. thats about an 80hp advantage.

If I am correct, the Mustang should have around 215 and the 300zx around 220.

wait, are we talking about a naturally aspirated 300ZX or a Twin Turbo 300ZX? The N/A comes in at 220hp stock, while the TT comes in at about 300hp stock. Let me see if i remember the numbers for that generation mustang. I agree with system, i think it's 215. So you have the horsepower advantage. But i dont know about weight advantage. Also, you have to remember about tires and gear ratios. And alot of drag racing is the driver and how he controls the throttle for the best take off.
I say skip putting twin turbos in, cause that'll create a little bit of turbo lag which you might not be able to handle (without practice), and work on smaller improvements, like intake and exhaust and weight saving. All very easy and simple to do. Tires would also help alot. And practice practice practice. The key to a good launch is throttle control. Dont just dive into a race. Get used to the dragstrip you're going to drive at and get a feel for your car and your limits as a driver.

wait, a 96-97 mustang gt puts out 215 hp? dont they use a 5.0 liter v8? Un 96-97 mustang tiene muy poco poder de un motor grande. (that means a 96-97 mustang has very little power from a large engine.)

yies it does have a 5.0. I will practice alot i have never really raced with a car that had power before. No it will be stock and i probably wont get the twin turbos(if i do it will be awhile). SHouldnt i have the weight advantage? OOO and i wont race untill i know i can win.
