Default choosing my first car

Ok, I started looking for my first car and I need a 4x4, pick-up,...
that has some pulling capability since i'm into jumping,it will have to be able to pull a trailer with 2 horses.

I would like it to be a diesel, because the gas prices here are pretty high here, and they have more torque.

I already found these within my budged:
-nissan patrol gr
-mitsubishi pajero
-mitsubishi L200
-...

so if you could tell me about the performance, handeling and reliability of these cars or have other suggestions.

my budet is around €5000(6500$).

Nissan Navara; simply because it is better looking then the mitsubishi's
has more torque if i am not mistaken and it won't drink your money like the Patrol ... that despite being a great 4x4 it has a small drinking problem.... but if you can afford 23 to 28 litters per 100 km then go Patrol.... otherwise i suggest the Navara

What does Toyota make in your market?

I dislike Toyota's in general, but they still make a truly solid line of solid-rear-axle pickup trucks, and have for as long as there have been small pickups.

Ours is called the Tacoma in the US, and that would be the one to get for a proper "truck".

Thing is, even a used and sort of high mileage Toy will last longer than a Nissan or Shitsubishi. Every time.

I'd get a 4runner.

Better gas mileage than the LC.

Still, something to be said for the giganticness of the LC. If that's your thing.

NISSAN PATROL!! NISSAN PATROL!!!

Ok, here me out. The Patrol comes with an RB30 motor. Normally, it's a gutless piece of crap. BUT, If you swap the head off of an rb25 (read, not all that hard), you can have a RB30/25 hybrid engine which is awesome!

The worlds fastest 240z is powered by that kinda engine and the damn thing runs deep into the 8's on the quarter mile!

Seriously though, Toyota Hilux or 4Runner, an 85 or 86 to be exact. They are fantastic trucks.

if I were you i would go with a :

anyways... the patrol will rape you in gas milage, but it is a nice truck...

personally I have always liked the Pajero.. which by the way means wanker in Spanish.

Especially the two door one, with the "wide" arches:

my vote goes for the Mitsubishi wanker as you Brits would end up calling it.

it does if you push it hard... a friend of mine had one for like 2 years was to use only on weekends and ruff terrain and used to make that average ... though it was unstoppable and very cool to drive.

Vtec has a great point... Toyota makes the Hillux pickup (name here in Portugal) if you can buy it... it is a great machine... and will last ... and last.... and last some more ...

Hilux is good. Navarra ranges from "mediocre" to "badly built by sleepy spanish fascists". The diesel models are a hopeless pieces of crap.

Patrol is okay. Landcruiser is better.

Mitsushiti... not so good.
