I just bought a bike from wal-mart....hehehe and it cost me about $70 USD.

I'm a semi-biking enthusiast, but by the looks of that huge tires, huge frame, and disc brakes, I'm thinking this will last you a while!

have fun riding and don't kill yourself

In my city there are a lot of street cylclists (road racing bikes) recently cause of the weather, those are guys are really into it as they have the full racing suit and of course expensive bikes.

Trek sells a road racing bike that is basically the same as the one Lance Armstrong and his team used in the last few Tour de France races.

The newest model retails for about $9000

nist, you just made one of the biggest mistakes of your life. NEVER, and I say NEVER get a bike from stores such as Wal-mart, Target, etc. They're cheap rip-offs. They're basically bikes that have been slapped together in 10 min and their sorry excuse for a bike! I'm telling you, many parts will break, because they're not assembled w/ quality. Hell, all the bikes I got from big stores like Wal-Mart ALWAYS had something loose.....

That's great, because you chose a bike you can only find at a bike shop.....

Advantages:
*off-road only tires
*DISC brakes, VERY STRONG!
*shifters, meaning you can shift like a "manual"
*long travel suspension

Disadvanteges:
*hardtail, no rear suspension, so your butt might hurt at times
*off-road tires only, don't use 'em on pavement
*uncomfortable riding position, as always from a mountain bike
*shifting may slow you down. You have to let off the pedals whenever you shift, just like letting go of the gas pedal when you shift

ALWAYS GET A BIKE FROM A BIKE SHOP!

Disc brakes alone are dam strong. But Brembo's are overkill. BTW, Brembo really is considering making brakes for bikes.....

yea thats a bit old but there was a thread about brembo brakes for bikes and if i remember it was made by nist7..lol but oh my god, you wouldnt want to spend that mcuh on the bike unless you are really considerating having really off-road stuff...or else, i wouldnt condier buying one, the brake itself on the bike is already good enough

The bike looks like a good deal.
fair price, good components. I wouldn't personally like the front suspension but then again, for that money one can't complain about front suspension.

The frame looks really nice!

Disc brakes are rather ok. Personally don't have any to save a few grams.

What? I use my offroad tires on road all the time. They are pretty crap on wet pavement though.

Well, because of the smaller contact patch on pavement, it wears away faster. This is only a general rule, because some tires have longer lasting rubber and some are designed for all-purposes. The reason why they're not very good in wet pavement is simply because it won't drain out much water to prevent hydroplaning.....

I really like to mountain bike, i have an 04 mongoose with full suspension and disc brakes, and a 2001? diamondback

that looks like a nice bike, thats a pretty good price for a disc brake bike, we have this professional bike shop here where mountain bikes can easily get up to over $2000, and some of the speed bikes get up to $5,000, maybe more?
