The sad thing is, the general public isn't made aware of the information I know. The media has smothered you in sensationalised BS proclaiming the world is warming beyond redemption, and it's going to destroy us all. It's not. Just as the years have seasons, so do the centuries, so do the aeons. Older members will remember the "Global Cooling" crisis in the seventies. Anyone who does some digging will find that 100 years ago, the weather was almost identical to what it is today. Every hundred years the world goes through a cycle of extra hot to extra cold, but it always rectifies. Global Warming is based on the theory that the world is warming irrepairably. I do agree with this. The levels of pollution we have caused on this earth is increasing the rate at which average temperatures rise, and will probably cause the temperatures to rise to a level not seen for a few thousand years. But it's not as bad as the media says it is. The weather will go back to normal, and it will cool down again. To put it simply, the human race does not have the power to affect something so colossal and almost infinitely complicated as the Earth. People whine about CO2 levels, but what they don't realize is that CO2 barely accounts for half a percent of the atmospheric composition, and even if the PPM rate of CO2 has doubled in the last 100 years, it's still nowhere near enough to make a huge, lasting effect. The high concentrations of CO2 found in cities still aren't close to the level found spewing out of volcanoes. And the hole in the ozone layer - remember, they only discovered it's presence. Nobody can truly explain how that thing got there, or what effect we have. Yes, we did make it bigger, but 5 years ago it was at it's smallest ever recorded size. A recent report said that it was now larger than ever, but it's highly likely it was a lie. There is such a huge push for a green revolution that I wouldn't be surprised if a meteorologist said this to keep the ball rolling. Now, I'm not saying a green revolution is a bad thing, but I am saying don't believe everything MTV tells you. I can get far deeper into this, and if necessary, I'll post the column I wrote on the subject. And clutch, parts of Australia experience snow this year, just recently, on an unprecedented level. In late spring. And I'm not talking about in mountains or high ground, I mean places near Melbourne. A little out of place in today's context, don't you think?

the problem is people think it would be in 50 years from now. It will happen but it is millions of years far.

I don't think think that we as humans have studied and recored to trends of the earth long enough to know whether or not this warming is natural or caused by us...

One of the methods they use is to drill ice cores in the polar regions, and extract ice from the bottom. That ice would have been at the surface a long time ago, and was gradually covered with time. The ice cores hold bubbles of air, and when you analyze what's inside the bubble you can learn a lot. Quote:
Homo sapiens have existed for about 20,000 years. The Earth is at least 3,000,000,000 years old. Pretty trippy when you think about it. Find another way to explain how the ozone layer could go from smallest ever recorded size to largest ever recorded size in five years, even though the use of CFCs (the agents that made it worse) were eradicated from use in the 80s.

Science and theories change constantly. Everyone thinks that they know more than they do. In the end, we really don't know s#it. But I do belive that we polute the hell out of this Earth, like it only belongs to us humans... like the Earth itself isn't an living breathing organism... like we aren't a part of it, similar to blood cells being a living part of us... like the scientists who believe global warming is real, are totally oblivious to the the climate changes over hundreds of years.
Regardless of what the media says, we probably should be more conscious of our consumption. The Natives of America didn't need modern science to know that. |

Homo Saphiens are the current species of human-like creatures... And hunting and gathering is more of an instinct of survival, than a fine art of technique.

I mean even if global warming did occur, we are most likely gonna runout of oil in like 50 years so our CO2 output will be dramatically reduced. And also, we are currently in a lull between Ice Ages. We wont all die of incredible heat as the next Ice Age will be waiting to take over...

we still have to stop producing CO2
not cause its harmful, cause its gonig to run out i think thats the real probelm maybe the gobal warming is a cover-up story just to get people using other means of power so when fossil fuels run out we'll be OK or maybe aleins have took over the earth and want all the fossil fuels to them selves, maybe all the presidents are aleins so they are telling us to stop using fossil fuels cause the aleins want it for themselves ![]() |

It's funny how everybody think the world is millions of years old when in fact it's only 171 years old.
"Global warming" won't happen. We are being saved by mother nature who is slowly making an ice age to keep the climate stable and prevent Greenland from melting from the hotness of our cars. I mean, everybody is all: ![]() ...about global warming, but we just had the coldest November since 1982, so let's just chill the hell out and enjoy the Saturday while it's still here. Thanks for doing this write up. I have been interested in finding out more about this side of the argument ever since I have heard of it. But a lack of resources and will power on the subject led me to give up.
If any of your sources were internet based would you mind posting them? Cars are also not the problem in my eyes, they only contribute 20% of all C02 made by humans yet they take the most criticism. Most of its probably things like big trucks and buses. I don't know how true this is on the whole but when watching a documentary on India in history class they had footage of buses churning out huge amounts of black smoke even at idle due to the fact that they can't be maintained. It was a few years old so I'm not sure how true it is now. In China as well I would say they have the same problem. There were tons of cheap buses that had diesel engines and you could always see them pouring black smoke out the end. Once you get things like power stations down to a level where they make clean energy you can start beating on cars. If we could get the world on clean energy concepts like Hydrogen and batteries would be plausible. But the thing about weather patterns changing is right. I have only seen one flurry of snow since I have moved. The rest has just been a sh it load of fog (as in you can't see 10 meters down the road) or just being cold and wet. It felt warmer in mid November than late October. I have only seen snow in Australia twice. Both were on mountains and not nearly as much at what you would get on Swiss mountains, or even city's for that matter. If its been snowing near Melbourne at this time of year something is really weird.

I never listened to hippies, but Rav that was a good post.
Yes, our worls is heating up and there's nothing you can do about it to stop it from happening. There are ways we can cushion the blows but PMs and everyone just spurt bollocks.
