Went to the drag strip the other night...
My dad and I went to the drag strip the other night for "Test and Tune." I drove the M5, and he drove the Ford GT.
My best time was a 12.5 @ 113 MPH (all stock) There was another kid there in a stock 2008 M5, and we went heads up twice. I got him both times M5 video: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/M...-NJ_154793.htm My dad did a best of 11.22 @ 133 MPH - couldn't break into the 10's, never got a good enough launch. @ Attus-
lol, I felt like I wasn't doing anything. It is the 7 speed SMG, and all you gotta do to launch is hold the shift lever forward, stomp the pedal, and let off of the shifter, and hold on lol. I felt like I was just there for the ride. Usually I race in my 1967 Firebird 5 speed, so the M5 felt so easy. Car_buff - yea i know, right? I keep telling my dad to get a *little bit* louder exhaust for the M5, but he likes it stock... I guess we got the GT to be loud in...

What DON'T you have? A Ferrari A Ford GT An M5.... I suppose next thing you're gonna tell me that you have a DeLorean with a flux capacitor.... *EDIT* I should take the Volvo to the drag strip...I might be able to set the world's slowest quarter mile. EVER.

Anyways, the M5 is amazing, and so is the GT. Wish i had a drag strip somewhere here... |

im pretty sure it wouldnt take much to get the m5 into the 10s, but i have heard with them that any non bmw parts void the warranty.

Sounds like it was a pretty slick track that night, I'm guessing a bunch of people were doing times.
Looks like you've done this a lot though, more power to you, especially when you're running 12.5's!
