I will agree (not with the whole post) with frewin here.

Red Bull the drink company didn't design the X-whatchamacall it. Adrian Newey did. And he is a racing legend in his own right. Red Bull probably did pay some money to have their product's logo featured on what is likely the "halo" car for GT5, but this was a virtual interpretation of PD's game designers working from the ideas inside the mind of Adrian Newey, the man behind the RBR F1 cars.


Sebastian Loeb and Jeff Gordon both did voice parts and driving inputs of their own in the game, but it doesn't mean Total or DuPont told them what to do or say.

but how does that bar him from making some fictitious joke car for a video game..

Lol..seriously people..you're all pondering the use of a 1500hp CVT jet turbine car...

1 jet turbines are slow to change throttle....making a tight course like suzuka not work for this car..

2 a cvt won't hold this type of shaft horsepower...no cvt in existance will short of one found on some gigantic ship..

3 to think this technology would work in a car such as this ie...small, f1 in size, f1 in shape, f1 in weight is foolish

4 you can't say "in the future who knows" because then my little big planet race car is the next F1 monster...

5...adriand newey is awesome, but this..is retarded....not retarded per-say..but as fictional as the Nautilus

6..the only jet turbine car to ever win ANY race what so ever..
was powered by a 325hp 650ftlb turbine....

it competed against some of the greats..the gt40 the peugeot 907..
and got its ass completely handed to it..i mean a joke of a race.

when it returned home and entered some podunk farms Vandergraft Trophy in West Virginny..which i can't even find any information on it on the internet what so ever..

that's the win the car got..Lol....


7..the lag experienced by this engine...means that the car would have **** for power when it got off the throttle and would have a massive delay once the driver was back on the throttle..

this lag would have to be countered by the energy being diverted elsewhere..ie..the engine running at near full capacity at all times..braking slowing down what-have you...in order to make sure you had power when you hit the gas pedal.

Ty, you are over-analyzing it as this car simply falls on parts 4 and 5 of your argument.

It could be built in the future, possibly after Newey has passed, when things we know now will pale in comparison to what we will be able to do today. No one thought a plane in the specs of the SR-71 could be built at the end of WWII, but with emerging tech and manufacturing processes it was built a mere 20 years later.


This car as its sits is 100% not possible by today's standards, but who is to say boo and question its presence? The Nike car was in the last one, this follows along the same mold. This game won't be teaching anyone about modern capabilities with this car, but rather give people the taste of the imagination Newey and the folks at PD have. It tries to "simulate" what such a car might be able to do one day, but it doesn't mean it has to be bound by the realities and budgets of 2010.


Sometimes drift, you don't have to have a definitive logical and analytically intense answer. It is what it is. Being upset or questioning it is but questioning why we dream what we dream. Sometimes its best left to the imagination. You play Halo, you don't sit in your chair and just ask why and how did they make the Spartans what they are. Its impossible in today's world. But you just play and enjoy the game.

I think the reason he is slamming it so hard, with his logical thinking is because GT has always been pushing it's "real driving simulator", and to have a car in the game that isnt even a little bit plausible goes against that.

Best racing game ever.

Best soundtrack, best vehicles, best tracks & weapons & FASTFASTFAST.

Perfect laps in 2097...better than perfect laps in any other game that contains laps. Truth.

The handling was just absolutely superb & totally suited to the vehicles & no other racer attempted to replicate it to any noticeable degree. It's a one of a kind racer that to this day, still manages to be more intense & frantic than most current-gen offerings.

2097 is still the game that simply cannot be replicated. It's perfect.

What do you have against an in every way possible worse version of GT3?

I mean seriously, just because the cars handled poorly, the engine sounds were attrocious, you could get a race car to win all races easily withen 20 minutes of playing, the game structure was based around a tedious grinding and gotta catch um all pokemon mentality, and the "tuning" was complete and utter magic which had no bearing on reality and you could win almost all races by just banking your car off the wall...

I don't see what the big deal is?

I mean yeah, I personally got bored of it within a week and havnt really played it sense, but that doesn't mean it's a COMPLETE **** game.

Let's face it, the opening movie and intro song were pretty neat.

...that's about all it had going for it, but at least it did'nt screw EVERYTHING up. It's not like they actually programmed in a function where the game will play itself because it's so damn boring.
