^^you can even make out the Hasselgren sticker on the cam cover
And 45K is insane, you can get a good one for 15K

the Hasselgren 20v in the AE86 makes 260HP..and costs i believe 30k....Maybe it's valued at 45k..but..i don't think it'd ever sell for that much

In the UK a 'Cossie' (Cosworth) lump is the most feared and infamous engine swap. There is probably a handful of examples of all UK cars with a Cossie I6 engine. I'll dig a few up...

Here's a personal favourite. It's fair to say this is probably a 'little' faster than my 306:

Oh I'm tired. You'll have to take my word for it, there are examples of Astra's, Fiesta's, Vans, Focus's and many more. I'll find more when I'm awake.

Chris.

Nice. You're damn lucky. Yeah, that article was written like last year, I guess the prices went down big time. I thought they said that was detuned from 280hp to 240hp. Oh and Taka Aono's D1 AE86 is going to be turbocharged this season! I don't know if this one is his but this is what Mr John's shop (JSC) did for Hasslegren:

As of TAS 2008, it was producing 943PS and hit 370hm/h at "Nardo Over 400Km/h". And I'm quite sure there's a lot more done to that Century V12.

Dude if he's running a GTK series turbocharger from turbonetics..he isn't going to be making much more than 400HP..

and from a 4AG that isn't going to put out NEARLY enough exhaust gases to need 2 wastegates..at ALL

in Muscle mustangs and fast fords, their turbo setup was designed to produce in excess of 1100HP...

It made so much power one wastegate wasnt enough...That ONE wastegate was 35mm......So they added ANOTHER 35MM....making the total area of decompression 70mm...

Now they make 60mm wastegates, you're telling me this 4ag...Making 400HP...on a go-kart turbocharger...needs as much venting as a 1200HP v8 small block?

I stick to my guns..

they did it because they did a "look what we can do" but in doing so really f'ed up the exhaust manifold architecture and did nothing but give the thing even MORE places to break.
