I think they are preparing this to replace our aging space shuttle fleet. That wing will help with controlled landings.

No it isnt stock. Although, it may be stock for the ghetto.

At $30k, Im expecting it have gold plated knobs inside and a gold plated MAF in the engine.

Cooper, the wing is what drew me to this classic!

The 633 was big in europe. That was before they got popular here. There is also another varient, a 628. I have NEVER seen those before.

The only variant I know/knew of is what is badged here as the 635CSI. I've always assumed the L6 was the same thing, I've never heard of a 633 or a 628 before (though the latter doesn't surprise me).

Seriously; 633? Funny number. Did they do a 333?

So this begs the questions. I take it the 633 was not very common in the U.S. if this is the case why the hell would someone put a pep boys wing on it. I mean i know retards are retards but really...

I dont believe so. But, then, I just realized there is a 316i in europe. I wasnt aware of that. The 633 was the succesor to the 3.0 CSL of the 70's, and somewhere along those lines the 628 evolved as well. I really cannot tell the entire lineage of the 6 series, just has too many twists and turns for me to follow.

The L6 is the same thing as the 635CSi. I have the same 3.5 staight six as the 635. The only difference is my interior is completely leather and the L6 has additional insulation for sound proofing. Also, the rear air conditioning was standard in the L6 as opposed to an option in the basic 635CSi.

Those are definitely euro-spec. The big give away is the bumpers. Apparently, the europeans are (were) not as stringent with crash safety. Those euro bumpers provided very little in terms of cushion. Purely asthetic.

The cabrios. Stay away from those like STD's. Everyone I heard of or saw had leaking problems. The roof/pillars are very integral to the super structure and when customized like that, they almost never got it right.

There are some 633's in the bimmer forum I frequent, just not as popular.

LSix, what exactly is yours?

I never knew this before, but I just found they never actually made an M6. Is that right? All they had as equivalent was the M635 CSI.

Take a look at these beauties...

break, it's an L6.

And I don't think the CSI was an M, it was just a CSI.

Those you found above are the M-Power euro-specs. There is (was) a M6 variant, the car badged M6 is what was shipped here. The M635 was the european counterpart. The euros (i preeeeeetty sure) had the badge M635CSi on the trunk (or boot). Where as the American variant had M6 on the boot. Either way, you could immediatly tell from opening the hood, there in either model you saw M-Power on the engine.

Mine is the limited edition model that was only made in 1987. There was a euro counter part and that was labeled with the "Highline" moniker. Here in America, it was simply badged "L6".

Rear shot.

My lotus weis interior.

Oh, and the L6 only came in auto. That was one reason for its lack of popularity. Many buyers of the car wanted the 5-speed. Consequently there were only 492 imported here for sale. For about $54k in 1987, it was an expensive toy.
