Question how's it done?

hey guys, ive seen a few pretty nice street cars around, and in most of them, theyve got like 2-6 car battery's in the trunk. obviously this is for the neon under-glow and interrior lighting...

my question is, i want to do this for my 97 mustang, so i can hook up some lights under my seats, and stuff... so how's it done?

they obviously cant run forever without being charged, and i dont want to cut holes into anything to get the wires up into the passenger area...

questions questions...

i respect peoples oppinions, thats why im not doing any vinyl right now cause my dad said he didnt like the idea.

on the other hand, its my first and... only car. to spite moms murano, dads maxima, 79 280zx and 82 280 zx... and i wasnt going to neon the outside, just some accent lighting under the seats inside.

besides i found the answer, its an isolator. now, i need a decent one, and advice on batterys for my trunk, aswell as securing them. if it will make you happy i dont even have anything neon anyways. this is going to take a while, and i'd really appreciate it if you, who undoubtibly knows more about cars than i do, would help me

Buy yourself a performance tuned ECU instead, you could get one for $200 I would imagine. Performance would be drastically better and very noticeable improvement.

you would consider modding it towards a sleeper car, instead of visual modification?

by the way; what are you thoughts on a windshield decal cause i was just gonna order one from www.decalfx.com with a black background and green text

ECU's don't so **** on N/A cars. Intake, headers, X-pipe and exhaust will yeild the biggest gains for the best price without going with forced induction. If you get forced induction you will need to get the ECU flashed to run bugger injectors, but otherwise it's a waste of money.

Back to topic........

Don't do neon lights please, but if you insist use optima batterys. The yellow top is deep cycle and will run whatever you want. Just remember that a battery is like 30LBS+ and more weight=slower.

thanks for the great mod advice, i'll be looking to mess under the hood once i get re-hired.

i know i might be pretty frowned upon not only for being a newbie around here, but for my interesting in making my quasi-lame car stand out a bit, which looks to be going agaist the grain in this forum >_<

in any light, (no pun intended) im willing to learn about cars, since my love for them continues to grow. anything your willing to teach i'll learn

Drive or ride in a very fast maodified car exactly like yours...the mod bug will get you and a nice sound system and all the other "little" things will seem silly compared to massive amounts of power.

Don't get us all wrong, we all enjoy style and looks. The majority here, it seems, would rather spend it on the performance than looks. Do your own thing, but remember the most important thing: To really stand out you need the whole package, performance (all aspects), style, and NOS...Well, maybe not the last bit.

okay, i can understand that. but since im pretty poor, and doing manual labor around my parents house till i can get a job, im gonna have to be content with adding windshield decals and replacing lamps. i cant really afford performance mods, and if i could, i might be tempted to have a run-in with the law lol

50% of other drivers don't notice you. Another 48% are laughing at your neon and windshield decals.

My definition of the dumbest non-blonde thing on the planet: A car with a carbon fiber hood and 300 lbs. of stereo/batteries in the back.

surly you can make a classic american muscle (i think anyway) into a prope job. with a good well done paint job.that car is a good car please save your vinyls for a car that this is needed for.
i think that if you want to do all this modding stuff.....buy another car

steve, im gonna have to say i see your point. i guess i never really thought of it that way. and with only 155 HP in the first place, adding 2 or 3 30 lbs batteries and adding more weight to it wont exactly make for impressive performance...

im not so convinced my baby is such an amazingly respectible car anyways. i got cut off by a car full of girls my age cause they looked like they thought it was funny or a game or something. theres somewhat of an urge now to add some unique-ness to her visual appeal.

koenigeseggs, i dont think i'll be painting her, as i like the black and dont envision myself comming up with $500 for paint

i will agree shes an awesome car, but it seems like you, and a few other people here besides me, are the only ones who see that in her. i will be re-thinking the vinyl idea her sides, but the windsheild decal is on its way, as are the corner lamps. tail lamps might be next but i havnt decided. i dont want her seriously street, just like i sad before, a hint of unique-ness; something that says shes mine.

Guess not all people here are motor heads. It's a nice change, do it up man. I say if you're just doing visual, keep it simple, because that's what a stang is. Any kind of pony should never be dressed up. If anything, get better lights, new aggressive looking rims. Other than that, keep your maintenance regular on the car and i think you'll be content.

Simplicity is sophistication.
