When I get my licsense I would like to sell the Prelude (seeing as it has little performance) and keeping the money to do a CRX project. This idea has been mentioned before by various members, but I plan on buying a CRX (Si) in decent condition for around $500. I then plant to buy a B18C1 (Integra GS-R motor) for about $2,000. That leaves me $4,000 - $4,500 (depending on how much the Prelude sells for) to modify (keepin' it N/A) the engine, paint it, and give it some new "shoes." I hope to have a sweet import sleeper that packs ~210 - 230 hp while weighing a mere 1600 - 1700 lbs. If all goes well, it'll be sweet.
My question is, do you have any suggestions? Any problems that might occur? Any better motors/ideas?

Redo the suspension for one, it was never a heavy duty system to start with. You'll need a new diff and wider wheels which means flaring the guards or making up fiberglass flares for it (smarter, easier to conceal and keep it a sleeper). New box and clutch will be in order but they'll probably slot in and you'll of course need a new exaust set up because at a guess the integra system would be too long and cutting pipes isnt good, do the math for it.

Thanks for the suggestions 12".
Whats the K20 from Civicllkr? EDIT: K20A - Integra Type R motor. You know, I'm not sure if that would work. Its a good idea, though. It produces 195hp I believe.

I've heard of a 2nd Gen. MR2 Turbo Motor going into a CRX. Is that true? Is such a modification possible?

I don't think it's possible. You're going from a ME RWD setup to a FE FWD setup. If you made some extreme modifications, which I am not ready to make, it might be possible. I just dont want to spend that kind of money. I'm tempted to go with a Honda engine though because most of the wiring harness and plugs/hoses would be able to stay.

You need a spoiler, a big one...
And some stickers.... I dont know about in the states, but in australia there are a heap of regulations regarding tires in particular. you need to make sure they have the correct speed rating and load carrying capacity. make sure you comply... If you do decide to do this, make sure you keep us up to date, it will be interesting... |

He wants to keep it n/a dork. =)
I'd say just strengthen the entire engine, not sure how for this but you're smart =), and go for rev's, that's about the only damn way you'll make 210+bhp from a 2.0?? Or's it 2.2?

its a 1.8 I believe in the intgra GS-R which makes about 170 hp, 150ish to the wheels. If you plan on extracting 210-230 wheel HP I hope u plan on doing alot of work. You will need to raise the compression to atleast 12:1. Which means replacing the pistons.(Id reccomend CR2 pistons) You'll need a new intake manifold(skunk 2), headers (JUN,1,000 a piece). You will also need new valves and springs most likely due to the higher compression. You will need new Head gaskets and piston rings, A fuill Intake (any brand will do), A full exhaust (and not a shitty ebay motors one either). You will need to get a MSD Ignition kit to increase the spark. Also adjustable timing gears, and a complete set of underdrive pulleys. This will get you about 230 Wheel horse power from the GS-R engine and should run about low to mid 12 Second quarters. Oh, and 4g's wont even get you close...This is all easily over 4k and thats without suspension and wheels...Perhaps you should set your goals a bit lower...

12:1?! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Man there are so many easier ways. Dry sumping for starters, flow the heads to the **** house, up the compression to a level where you can still run regular gas but the expensive part will be getting a good injection system and pipe. Man just pull it apart and work on it yourself.

It will take a while, but I think I could do it. I would get a new:
AEM V2 Cold air intake Intake manifold injectors exhaust manifold full exhaust spark plugs pistons + rings head gaskets cam shaft sway bars coilovers + springs tires + wheels I will probably have $3k to spend in the beginning. This is not including the income I will make while working which I can chip in. Hopefully when I become 18 I can serve tables at Roccos. Waiters make approximately $300 dollars per shift. A senior who I was in speech class with buses tables at the restaurant and made 86 bucks in tips off a 120 person table. He usually makes 10% of the waiters income. That equates out to $800 dollars to the server. Niiice.

Its not hard if you do the work yourself, and because you've never a 76 liter car doesn't mean it doesn't exsist, same with a 210hp CRX.

It doesnt exsist, there is no way to build a 210 WHEEL hp crx for under 4 grand. Dude, just do yourself a favor and buy a type R integra and save yourself the time and effort of building a monster CRX. However if your die hard set on doing it I wish you luck. Send me an IM at GTISpeed04 if u want any advice or a hit a snag in the road.
