Question 1990 Camaro RS Engine Swap

Right now i have a 1990 Camaro RS 3.1L V6, automatic. And yes i know it's slow.
I'm looking to do an engine swap to get the most hp i can. I realize that it'll cost more to do this then to just by another car with a better engine in it but still....
If anyone could give me some pointers/advice/suggestions on what kind of engine ect. i'd really appreciate it. Thanx.

Sell it and buy a Z28 or SS. MUCh cheaper and less troublesome. I imagine you could put a V8 in it BUT you will have to swap out quite a bit of parts and unless you can do the work yourself it will cost a LOT more than just buying a Z28.

Ditto what TTBliss said, or get a different car like a Taurus SHO, they've got some quickness and are wayyyyy less magnetic than a Camaro.

I know it'd be cheaper and a lot less time consuming to by a Z28 or an SS but i'm not really worried about that....It's kinda my pet project to make this a kick @$$ car, something that'll really surprise everone.

In that case shoehorn a V10 viper engine into it. Since you are not worried about money/downtime make it a twinturbo V10.

Get a 5 liter or over supercharged injected Rover V8, those things sing about 500hp

My brothers friend knows a good deal about F-body Camaros. Perhaps you could contact him or check out his tech articles at his site.

In the eternal words of Caboose from Red versusu Blue, "You could explode !"

Or, you'd just get the info elsewhere...Personally, I think it'd be the explosive one.

Oh man, Red vs. Blue is awesome, Caboose being the best
And it sounds like a really cool project, keep us informed on its progress.
