The McLaren F1 would win on laguna Seca. It would go faster in corners because of the mid-engine, and the Speed Twelve's engine is simply worse than the F1's. Heck, The speed twelve engine is made of steel while the F1 engine is made of gold and aluminium.

on the average track the road going Speed Twelve would lose against the road going F1. The TVR is too powerfull and front engine-RWD doesnt help either. if the engine was sitting over the rear wheels you might have more traction, but because there's about 200lbs sitting over the wheels you're gonna spin if dust falls on the gas. there's little traction when accelerating in the speed 12 until you get to 3rd gear, based on the clips i've watched of it driving

If we are talking about street cars; the obvious choice is the car built by a multiple world championship car constructor vs. the car built by some small shop craftsmen-with-hammers that lucked into some new money.

Cubic money can buy technology; but it can't buy experience.

This is a no-brainer (yawn). Sue me.

Again depending pretty much on teh driver as well.
If I would have to drive both the TVR would be first because it looks better

I'm only slightly biased in this.

Hammers rule the world.

In all honesty, for everyone else the McLaren offers better handling and better application of force (traction) in comparison.

TVR just went out of business because nobody buys their crappily built cars.

McLaren's own Gordon Murray told Mercedes-Benz they were wrong, moved the engine in their own supercar 3 feet, and got away with it.
Then he said, "I'm out of here", and when he says he's planning on making a new city car, like a Smart Roadster, and beat every competitor out there, even in pricing it's tough to swallow, even for a huge manufacturer...And yet, with Gordon Murray, it seems kinda' doable.

McLaren F1.

They'll both twitch their rears day in and day out. In interest of fairness, production "runs" and direct competition, the F1LM is the one I'd compare it to, and yeah, that's like shooting fish in a barrel...

The TVR would be quicker if you could keep the rear planted

yeah 2 diff cars..

ANYWHO...Depending on the skill of the driver..
if the cars are put to their limits without risk of mistakes..the speed 12 without a doubt..

but the speed 12 is a monster that takes ALOT of f'in talen to work.
