Default Aussie Death in Paris- Dakar Race

I heard it just last night on the news, an Australian rider took a fall and suffered fatal head and neck injuries. I mean no disrespect, but I can't remember his name. He was on one of the orange/blue/white motorcycles that were in the top few. If someone could post the name here that would help a little.

Hey Roadhog,

The guys name is Andy Caldecott. He was 4 time winner of the Australian Safari, and has won 3 stages in the Paris-Dakar. It's a big loss for the adventure motor cycling world. See link below

One of my mates dads knew him. They grew up together in keith, in south australia.

He earned respect from motor racing legends such as peter brock & cameron mconville.

Rest In Peace.

Paris-Dakar is the toughest race IMO, and people get killed evrey year. Whoever just finish that race deserve great respect especialy if he is not one of big factory drivers with 100 mechanics around him. I saw racers helping their small mechanic team after racing 18 hours..it is like beeing on Mount Everest.
