Default A1 vs F1

What do you guys think of the A1 competition. For those who havn't heard of A1, its a competition founded by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Hasher Maktoum Al Maktoum (the price of Dubai). Its a winter competition consisting of 1 make. The car bears great resemblence to the F-1.

The competition consists of 25 countries (25 teams) and has 10 races.

I think A1 is a good idea, but I think it will take a time to get the amount of viewers as F1. F1 is becoming more popular, but because, A1 is going to be in the Winter season, I think that they will be equally popular. Also, I think A1 will be a hit in countries that don't have any F1 drivers or don't get much chance to watch the sport.

A1 is every thing F1 is trying to achieve in terms of competitiveness between drivers, F1 is always trying to make a level playing ground for all drivers, but that will never happen in F1. A1 will have a totally different angle to it as this hasn't really been done before, it will encourage people to be apart of it as its country VS country , its like the motorsport version of the olyimpics and this will draw crowds. The fact that its in the off session just strenghtens its force as it wont have any other competition, therefore making all motorsport enthusiast want to watch it as it will be the only motorsport running.

I like the idea of A1. For as long as i can remember , F1 is just a money making, Tv right's + sponcership run race.
With A1, the founder of this new form of motorsport is a passionate for car's and expresses it with the new idea.

A1 has many potentials. Same car/tyres/engine and different driver. The car is beautiful, unlike the new F1's. The teams in the A1 are going to be national teams. The prices for the winning team are going to be pride and a whole bunch of money. And above all the Saudi Arabians are in charge which means excellent organization. Im very optimistic about the A1 and Im really looking forward to it since Hellas is going to participate!! But a comparison with the F1 is not valid. With GP2 yes.

It'll be quite a bit more competitive, as it's not all based on money.. which is definetely a good start; so it's just like a regular national sport much like in the olympics. Hopefully it'll be recognized by more people and maybe someday this might even mean motor racing in the olympics.

Ronaldo is going to have the Brazilian A1 team!!
http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns14400.html

and i hope the Australian race would be held in the olympic park as I'm only 15mins away from it.

Its going to draw supporters who's country will participate, giving the other countries very little incentive to broadcast or promote. On the other hand, F1 draws supporters from all around the world because there's more reason to support a car brand than supporting some other guys' country.

I hope A1 becomes a success!!
