I like the Mini very much, but I'd go with the GTI because it's more sporty.

I go for the mini. There are to many (tuned) Golf IV. It isn't special. And the mini looks also really great

The Mini is MUCH better in terms of quality and also much more fun to drive and with excellent road behaviour.
The VW is a little boring to drive, but has plenty of room and it's more practical for everyday driving (the Mini practically a two-seater).

Overall I choose Mini.

The VW GTi 1.8T all the way for this fellow. Very refined Turbo inline four with a very responsive chassis and tons more practicality. There is an immense amount of aftermarket support for the 1.8T and at least here in America it hasn't been done to death. Honestly, to get a Mini with all the features you'd like, it's going to be much more than the GTi you'd like. So yeah, gooooo Golf!

i like the Mini S. I'd just imagine it has better handling. and i know first hand that the cockpit is pretty comfortable. I can't say that about VW's. They're seats are usually hard and pretty uncomfortable. Thats just me. Don't go all insane on how i'm statisticlly wrong.

I'm not a fan of either of these cars, but if I should choose one of them I would rather go for a Mini Cooper S.

I never liked Golf, only the latest R32 made me change my mind a little bit.
I don't like the Mini either, simply because it's not a real mini anymore. It's more a .... maximini now. But okay, to please igaboj. I vote for the maximini.

I agree with you on that, but I like the Mini more because it would be one awesome pocket rocket with some minor mods, and its made by BMW.
