soooooo easily the G35. id die before choosing a RX8 before a G35. do i need to explain? more practical, more luxurious, faster, more reliable, way better looking inside and out imo. its just better. to me this comparo is like comparing a Miata and an S2000, obviously the S2000 is better. (ok, now anyone who feels like they are a wiseguy and wants yell at me because i stated an opinion as a fact, save yourself. i dont want to hear it.)

Not even worth the comparsion, and Im a Mazda Fan.
G35 wins, no contest.
The Shinka addition, is just some aero-parts + a little bit of suspension tuning.
Otherwise, its the same as the regular RX-8.

i like the RX-8 better because of the 9000rpm's (as ghalos said) the design is better the only bad thing is the reliability!now the G35 is vvvery good too but in Greece if you have car with 3500cc the IRS would take your house.

I would get a G35 without a doubt. Im not even sure if u can call the RX-8 a sports car. A recent magazine 'dynoed' the car and the car gave out around 165 horse powers to the wheels !!! thats around 60% decrease from what the manufactor claim at the flywheel !!!

never a big fan of the mazda rx8, the looks r nice, but just does not excite me
while the G35 is a amaing car, much better tan the mazda
but to b frank i wud prefer a s2000 or 350Z over both of tem if tat choices were available

Is sports car all about power, and straight-line performance? You know, Motorweek tested an RX8 and 350Z on a track; and the RX8 lapped the track faster than the Z. On topgear, the RX8 also got the same time as the 350Z, and BMW M3; and like you say, it only has "165 WHP".

Doesn't mean I'm going for the RX8 though. Nor the G35 coupe; I have yet to decide.

look, the 2004 RX-8 is faster than the 2003 Infiniti G35 by a hairs width. A tenth of a second doesn't make much of a difference really, so what I'm just trying to say is that the RX-8 has more capability than people are giving it credit for. If the Mazda didn't have the best handling characteristics, I might pick the Infiniti. But it does, it hanldes like a race track sports car should. It's about 500 pounds lighter than the G35 and yeilds more driving fun than the G35, IMO. Doesn't matter if a car is fatser if it isn't fun to drive. The design is really cool and flows well. I also really like the doors and 2 + 2 setup. Anyway, I wouldn't get the Shinka, but the less expensive 6-Speed and use the remaining $5k on performance mods.

RX8 all the way. I love lighter more agile cars. Plus the styling is soo much better. The G35 might be a little bit quicker going straight, but when it comes to the slalom, the Mazda takes it. The RX8 also brakes a little bit better than the G35.
