Same here, SL500 is better on every level, I think it'll be tough to choose the Lexus over the SL. And the fact that the SL55 exists just widens the gap imo.

If i could choose something else.. the 6-series convertible from BMW

But since there is no "other" option, i'd say SL500; unless i was paying, SL500 is $30k USD more than the SC, and the SC has no options, and comes fully loaded for the most part, while adding options to the SLK would make it even more pricier. Usually Lexus does make excellent cars, but the new SC is definetely an exception; has anyone ever seen the size of the rear seats?? If Lexus makes this a 2 seater like the SL, and gives it a little better handling, i'd easily choose it over the SL.

Anyway, i think this isn't that great of a comparo.. i mean, a fully loaded SC430 costs 58k USD, while an SL500, with no options costs 88k USD.. more than 30k difference between the 2; enough for a nice EVO :wink:

No brainer for me; SL500 for sure. The SC430 doesn't even stand a chance. The 645ci Cabrio or the Cadillac XLR might have stood a chance against it, but not the woeful SC430.

30 grand difference is in the mechanicals and interior trim and finer materials. Plus it's the class of owning an SL class Mercedes.

my old avatar just said "OMGWTFBEES" and had weird colored missiles flying around, ahhh photoshop can kill lots of boredom time!!!

BTW, I'm just testin' this one out.

Nifty little feature, swiveling nav and radio controls (remember, everything's standard!)

When you put the interiors next to eachother like that, ths SC's is somewhat nicer, in that black btw...But the exterior of the SL is a shape I honestly think will be remembered and adored in 5, 10, 20 years...It's like the 300SL Gullwing, it's still gorgeous today!
