Maserati quattroporte vs. Mercedes E55 AMG

this is not your normal comparison. I actually need some help with these two cars. I need to decide

Right now I am driving a toyota landcruiser as my daily ride, but the toyota is nice off road but i feel like i need something different as a daily driven car. This will be a car i park anywhere and have fun with all the time. I know the merc might be much faster then the maserati but the maserati has the cambio corsa gearbox (F1 paddle shift) and i can have more fun with that instead of the automatic on the merc. But the E55 is powerful and the facelift is coming out soon so i am not so sure about that car. I was hoping to hear some of your thoughts about these two cars. also keep in mind that no matter what the car is, i will never mod it in the future cause i need something normal.

E55 without a doubt. I ain't taking no crappy Quattroporte. Ugly as all get out.

Quattroporte.
-Better looking.
-F1 Trans, not shitty auto.
-Much rarer
-Not identical to a boring $35k sedan
-Better sounding engine, argueably better engine.
-Almost as fast.
-More interesting interior.

^ What Mopar said, except I don't mind the QP's styling at all. Still, any four door sedan that can outgun a 360 modena in the 1/4 mile is plenty "fun".

Though, if you want real fun, and since it's pretty hot where you live, I'd go with an N/A powered car...The new M5 is an obvious choice, and it's got the 7speed SMG system...

Oh to be rich...*sigh* =)

I drove the M5 yesterday actually. my brother's getting one so i dont need one myself.

thanx so far for the input everyone.

the cars so far at the dealer is a beige with brown E55 but itsnt a full option but if i wait for 2 weeks they will be getting a purple with black E55.

the car at the maserati dealership are black with black and a lighter maroon color with tan both are full option.

the identical part about the E55 is what bothers me. everyone with an E class fits on a AMG bodykit and some actually badge the car as an E55. also i noticed the SL55 C55 and E55 all have the same design bodykit.

Why don't you give specs on both cars and pics..

but..

I know what the Quat looks like..

And it looks like complete crap..

Mopar couldn't have said it better..

It's an ugly ugly ugly car.

I don't car if it can do this and do that..

You can only polish a piece of crap so much..

you can also pick up an E55 for like 65-70k in the states now. another reason to pick it.

Actually, I've seen way more Quattroportes than I have E55's. And I wouldn't call if a "better engine". Louder, perhaps. I'm sure it costs more to repair though.

The fact is that people buy the E55 because they don't want to say "HEY, LOOK AT ME". I belive that frame of mind is rather childish, and therefore the QP is childish.

This is wierd. I personally love the Quattroporte more than the E55's but I would still buy the E55 if I had to choose. I'll still give more nod to Quattroporte owners since they have
the guts to own one and maintain.

The E55.
It looks better and is faster.
When you have DVD navagation does that let you play DVD's or is it just a name.

Factually, Mercedes has imported many more E55's to the states than Maserati has QP's. Maybe you mistake the E55's for E320's because of their boring styling?
