Default 09' SS vs GTi vs MS3 vs WRX vs Si vs Ralliart vs John Works S

But! I wanna do something different this time! This is a car site...we need to know pros and cons! We need to be able to look at stats and not be biased (well...a little)!

Pick your top 2. Then compare them by pros/cons (at least 3). Then EXPLAIN why you picked your final answer. Then pick it in the poll!

------------------------------------------------

My choices...

1. '09 Subaru Impreza WRX

Pros:
- 0-60 time
- Boxer Engine
- Exhaust note

Cons:
- Not as aggresive looking like previous years
- Only 5-Speed
- Lower MPG

2. 09 Honda Civic Si

Pros:
- Appearance
- Interior
- Price

Cons:
- I wouldn't wanna put 91 Octane in a Honda
- I need more than 197hp
- 0-60 time

Final Choice: '09 Subaru Impreza WRX

Hands down...the best choice on here. For $25k...that's a really quick car! And I would not be embarrased to say I drive a WRX. Saying I drive a Civic...maybe...if I add 'Si'...it wouldn't make a difference to alot of people.

The mini. Yeah, it's cute, there's too many of them, and some people think it's a girls car, but really the cooper works version is just wonderful. It's by far the best handling car out there, and for some reason, I just love it. Mitsu is a close second

I'd happily take the GTI.

I'm more than happy with 200hp coming from its 2.0L Turbocharged engine.

I'm also quite happy with its fuel consumption and insurance isn't as high as many of the other cars in this comparison.

I'd also be satisfied with its build quality and comfortable ride, not to mention the exhaust note in the car.

It is just an all-round great car. It might not perform as well as many of the other cars, but it is a car I can live with on a daily basis.

*It really is a travesty that the US don't get the Focus ST [XR5T] as well as the Civic Type R.*

I pick the GTI but now I'm not so sure... The GTI just looks so blah but I'm kind of a badge whore. If it were my money it would be between the GTI, Mini, and the Cobalt. The Mini is slightly on the small side, the GTI looks pretty boring and from what I've heard the steering feels kind of "dead". The Cobalt.. well if it wasn't for those wheels and it being an American car I probably wouldn't even consider it. Those wheels just look amazing .

I know, I know I'm suppose to do the 1-2 pros and cons thing but I don't have a one and two, I have a 3 way tie.

Its between the Mazdaspeed 3, Civic Si and the Mini.
Con about the mini: its to darn expensive, I mean $30,000, its just to much. I would take a cooper S for about $23,000. The Mazda is fast and practical. The civic i nice, but its underpowered in this group. I really can't decide between the mini and MS3.

I have to say this speed 3 looks great with the RX8 rims. :P
Side note, the Wrx is fast.4.7 sec to sixty mph, thats faster than an STI !!! But it looks like crud, so i would never buy it. Sorry Subaru kid but I can;t get past its ugly looks.

Mini Clubman Works for me. I test drove a Cooper S works and it was unbelievable! I LOVEEEE Mini's too, so that helps! I think it looks much better than the rest in this group too, and the interior is much more unique too.

Everything else looks cookie-cutter.

The Si for me, for obvious reasons. Best powerplant, best shifter, best overall because it's a combination of weekend racer and daily driver. The others compromise too much in my opinion, and I really, really, really hate the on/off nature of turbocharged powerplants. Especially the ones in this crop of overblown hairdryer powered things.

Seriously, the Si is not a *slow* car by any means, and I promise you--from experience--that it has the best ride/handling compromise of this bunch, and it only really gets out-done by the kidney punishing Mini.

I admit that the Mini is a really freaking great handling car, but anyone who hasn't been in one owes themselves the treat of getting their fillings rattled out whilst driving down seemingly glass smooth roads.

But I know I'm not going to convince anyone, so I'll stop there.

Yet another person with the Mini last. I know it's expensive, but really, last place?

I just don't like the Mini. I don't like it's looks. I don't like it's cult following. I don't like it's weak straightline performance. And I most definitely don't like it's price. I don't care how fun it is to drive, or how practical it is. They have got to be out of their f#ck1ng minds to ask 33 grand for that thing. You can buy a barely used C6 Vette for that. Or a 996 911. It just comes off as a terrible value to me.....

I own a Mazdaspeed 3 so for me its first.

It is also the fastest 60 - 100 by 0.5 a second (the WRX is faster 0 - 100 helped by the AWD)

So my order will be:

1. Mazda 3 MPS

2. GOlf GTi
*more refined than the others
*proven over time as a reliable car

From there on... I wouldn't spend my money on any of them.
Chevy - I cant buy it here
WRX - Has a bad reputation and stigma
Raliart - To heavy and not close enough to the Evo
Mini - I would choose this if I was half a foot shorter and was a normal Mini
Civic - Just don't like the look of it (my personal opinion)

1. Cobalt SS (shutup, I like them).

Pros

-Fast
-Fun
-Practical
-Filthy cheap
-Efficient
-Fast
-Filthy cheap (domestic dealers are desperate; a mute could negotiate a hot deal out of them)
-Fast
-Handsome
-Dependable
-Nice place to sit
-I get to pick with knobs who hate on thing for no reason, and that's phunz.

Cons
-Maybe not quite as sharp as a Honda; then again, that's only speculation on my part and also, what is Honda sharp?
-Fighting with knobs might get tiring.
-Being associated with college age douches will get old fast. Mods will be required to alleviate this.
-^ Har har.

2. Civic Si

Pros
-Razor sharp handling
-Wonderful everything
-Lots of options for mods
-Reliable
-Efficient
-Pretty cheap
-Practical

Cons
-Being associated with college age douches would get old fast. Mods won't work as well to fix this. Thanks, ricers.
-I'd have a hard time swallowing that I could have saved a big chunk of change had I have gotten the Cobalt, a car that's arguably a much more competent vehicle.
