WOW! Thanks for all the help guys! You guys are great. Thanks for posting the pictures for me, and I'm also considering the GTI as well. The Civic Si sounds really good to me as well, seeing as that is what most people are choosing. I'll try to reply to all your individual questions in a bit, but I am a teen, so, I have homework, ugh.
Thanks Adam Z (pantstofry) |

id go for the gti, but then again there's a new one coming out in the summer. you really should wait. there's the genesis and the gti that are coming out soon. i say you wait till those are out.

Well...
I'll add a little more to this discussion; My friend's Dad who was in the market for a commuter car similar to the ones posted bought a GTi. He simply said that the Si had no torque and you had to wring out the engine to get enough power to go anywhere. Then again, he's stepping down from an M5 as a daily to a GTi as a daily. But Vtec will talk all day about how amazing that Civic's 4 cylinder engine is. Drive them. That is exactly what you need to do. Now get.

Thanks guys, I'm seriously considered the GTI now, since there's one coming out this summer, and I'm not going to buy till probably August. The Civic Si looks great. The Genesis I've looked at and it's pretty cool too. So the list has pretty much changed by now to GTI, Genesis, and Civic (Si, if possible)

![]() and the gti is great car. really. just do some research on it. and you will see how good of a car it is. and if you can wait. wait until the new body style comes out. would be cool to own one of those. right when they come out.

well it also depends on what you're looking for. the gti is much smaller than a genesis and there's also a slight price difference.
VW Golf GTi CAR magazine estimates it will cost around $30,000 USD 16v 4-cylinder turbocharged 204 bhp @ 5100 rpm 206 torque @ 1800 rpm 0-60 mph - 7.2 seconds ~2,900 lbs. 37 mpg ![]() Hyundai Genesis Coupe ~$35,000 USD V6 NA (also 2.0L Turbo) 299 bhp @ 6300 rpm 266 torque @ 4700 rpm 0-60 - 6.3 seconds ~3450 lbs. 27 mpg ![]() just wait, don't decide on anything yet. im pretty sure the gti will come out before the genesis does, so once it's launched go get a test drive, see if you like it. and you can also wait for the genesis to come out too. there's no rush, and to be honest, the economy is doing so badly, i don't know why anyone would buy a brand new car...but that's your choice and this was what i had to say.

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to buy a used GTI, but thats fine with me because the older ones (Not toooo old) are still pretty sick. I can't afford a $30k car. Really I can't afford more than $25k, and I'd like to keep it near or less than $20k.

That is correct! And, logically, the one due out this year will be the MkVI.

Yeah, I was so tired yesterday. I guess I was just lazy, sorry. I've been around forums a long time (Not this specific one, but others)
