Default Mazda Opens the Floodgates

With Mazda's recent insurgence of new models it looks like they're trying to add to the Miata "zoom" of zoom-zoom.

So, what are your opinions of the new Mazda 6, Mazda 3 and Rx-8?

Personally, i love the Rx-8's engine (see sig) and the look as well and the Mazda 3 and 6 continue the Protoge's legacy of sporty sedans that come in a variety of flavors (think civic).

Btw if you vote option 3 or 5 you SUCK!

lets see the old lantis against the new mazda 3 there is no way to compare , the 3 is much better , it have good road behaviour , its comfort unlike the old one which will give he a read bad feeling in the back after 5 minutes on the seat and the price is reasnable .

the 6 series is great compared with the old 626 , its better in every aspect the interior is great for the price , the engine isn't lazy comfort and better behaviour that all its components ( the C5 , accord , toyota owens ( don't know what you call it but its the 2 liter version and more ) so its an other plus for the company .

the mazda MX5 is a real cool ride with a rear wheel drive and after adding a tuebo its great ( i just had a problem getting in ) low on the road great road behaviour what can you ask more ..... oh ya it have a really low price compared with other components .

the RX8 i cant say i never drove it but i heard its great .. but they have the new engine in it so its an other plus !

mazda are well known as cars that don't have a weekly ticket to the garage so thats an other plus .

many the cars are really good , i never see my self buying a mazda ( i prefer an older german bimmer ) but thats only me , the company got real better , i hated the old mazda .

i think that should be enough

although... i'm not too sure i'm dazzled about ford's ownership of it. when exactly did ford buy out mazda? anyone know?

my family had a mazda mpv for a number of years, and unfortunately it started to break down at around 95k miles. it's got a ford engine in it, am i correct? for some reason i blame that on ford although i could be wrong. i usually connect japanese engines to longevity...

Ford owns 33% of Mazda

Mazda builds 4 Cyl and Rotary Engines only now. Any V6 or higher is built by Ford.

Mazda6 4Cyl is coo. Wouldn't take the Mazda6 V6 since it shares the engine with Taurus/Sable.

The ride's gonna end soon. Mazda6 will have Ford/Mercury Twins soon, and Mazda3 will be the platform for the next Ford Focus (that's not bad).

Your question: Mazda going in the right direction?
My answer: Yes, but I don't like the RX-8

The new 3 is the best car in its class by far....

The RX-8 is god awful ugly...

Mazda is definitely going to the right direction.
(where right direction = many more sales)
Their cars are really better now compared to the past, with nice designs, nice interiors, good engines, japanese reliability and very very good road behaviour.

Yeah, i think Mazda is going to the right direction with full speed! ! ! Now, about their models, their all good, RX8 is an awesome car, sport design, RWD, 230HP, need anything else? I dont think so. 3 sedan is cool, 3 hatchback is also cool (hope the release it with 3 doors and lot of HP, 200+ for ex.), 6 is going to be awesome with the new 2.2L engine and the 280HP, personally i don't like much the MX5 but i know that is fun to drive, and at last their planning to release their small supercar, u know the one with the 4 rotors! ! ! So. . .

Personally I think you're right, however, the RX-8 looks good at some angles. But my tru opinion about Mazda is simple: They are owned by ford. Mazda in the past has made crappy transmissions, and many of the cars do quit around 100k miles. A lot of my friends drove MX-6's, 626's, and they all seemed to crap the bed around 100k miles. Mazda may be doing better, we'll have to see in the next three years how well these cars are.

I just wanna point out that I like all the new Mazda CARS. read: I still strongly dislike SUV's(Tirbute) and the Series-B truck looks fairly worthless. They need to drop the Renesis into a 3 and they'll be set That'd be a seriosuly quick little screamer. (RWD would help too)
