Default Mazda 3

Yeah, well as some of you may know I drive a corolla..It's originally my mom's but I drive it and drive her to where ever she needs to go. I have been saving up some money and I'm thinking of getting a Mazda 3, because im tired of driving a 1.8L car that takes minutes to get to 60mph..Now I'm not saying that the 3 would be that much faster but it would be better and I could maybe do some modifications ans stuff..So what do you guys think? Should I buy a Mazda 3, or are there any other cars in the same category as this, that would be better at being sporty, good mpg, and good hp?

the mz3 is good value for money, and if you get the 2.3L engine it's a lot better then the corolla. also the 2.0L isnt' bad. not much improvementonthe corolla but i really thinkt he corolla sucks the fun out of any car.

good thing about mz3 is that they all come with sport shift in canada, (sorry forgot to check where you lived)

but yea other alternatives are the the new civic coupe. the new civic coupe is more comparable to the 2.0L mz3 in terms of power, but in road prowess i'd choose the civic. dont' get the jazz it's lke a 1.5 L engine or something same with the yaris/echo

personally for me if i had your amoutnof money i'd get a used vehicle. it's always good to start used.

Yea, get something used. You can do a lot better if you go used.

The Mazda 3 has very nice fit and finish. And the handling is typical Mazda. Either the 2.0L or 2.3L would be a step up from the 1.8L in the Corolla. The interior is one of the nicest in this market segment next to the new Honda Civic. I would buy one with the 2.3l.

You can get a new Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V for about the same price as a Mazda 3 with the 2.3 but its not as well built.

Are you planning on buying this brand new? Or a used version of the Mazda 3?

I'm planning of bying this brand new, with no miles at all, and yeah I forgot about the Sentra SE-R Spec-V... maybe that would be a better choice, because I want it to be sporty too....

Well, you're only shaving about a second off of the 0 - 60 time..

Normally that would be good, but you're still at 8.

You're getting about 20 more hp, hovering at about 150. 160 if you get the 'high-end' model.

Personally, I would go for an Accord EX V6. It's a fantastic car, giving you everything you wanted in the 3, plus a much more respectable 0 - 60 time of 6.2. It's relatively new, gets good mpg, offers a tiptronic/manual trans., has a good sound system, and will run you about the same price.
