Default Got a chance to take the Nismo 350z for a test drive

Was lucky enough to get to take the Nismo 350z for a test drive recently. The Nismo is of course the Nissan Motorsports version of the 350z. They take the chassis off the assembly line and heavily tweak and tune every part of the car except the engine (no, don't ask I have no answers). They put in new suspensions, add a lot of body work, change the wheels, put in racing seats... etc... Each car is individually numbered and the production is limited.

And it was one hell of a ride. Frankly I was surprised. I normally drive a Vette so I am used to having a lot of hp. However the Nismo has one gigantic kick when the accelerator is floored, and this even though I know it "only" has 305 hp. It handles flawlessly, something that I can appreciate few American cars can claim (sadly, not my Vette).

A very nice car but the sticker price at $43k puts it way in a totally new category of car and it ceases for me to be a 350z. For that price, you get a lot of options, and I had to say no to the Nismo.

But... if you are a huge 350z fan and you want a tuned car right from the factory, I think this is a great car.

Dude, if you seriously think that, you are retarded. The VQ family of engines is rated as one of the best motors in recent history. Do some research before making stupid comments like that....

Actually, scg87 is right. The VQ series is one of the better engines to be engineered recently.
