I checked and Karamjit Singh is still doing the WRC production class championship in a Proton "EVO lookalike".

Yeah he is still in the same car...Proton PERT. As for gen2, it looks good on the outside but sucks on the inside. As far as I know, 1st batch productions cars suffered things like door handles, hand brakes and windows falling off themselves (a few of the cars I think). Unless Proton improves the quality, I am sure it's market share will continue to drop. As for engine wise...I dun think their CAMPRO engine with valve timing tech is in it yet...yeah...CAMPRO is the so called engine built in collaboration with Lotus and it was developed in Lotus UK. I can say all of their 1.6l engine line suffers from lack of power considering most or all engines are SOHC. There's just no pulling power the moment u jam the accelerator pedal (evidently seen in auto models).

^most of their engines were redesigned mitsubishi's. By pulling power do you mean towing capacity? If so you cant tow with most of their models such as Jumbuck and satria because of the stupid suspension setup.

Oh sorry, what I meant was acceleration power. The jumbuck that the aussies call in australia is actually named Proton Arena in M'sia. It was kinda a failure here and models like Proton Tiara and Proton Juara were also crappy failed models.

Proton......I seriously think the only ppl that will buy it are Malaysians.WHY.Because they're the cheapest car here.THe Government imposed a 300% tax on other brands. So we can't really enjoy cars like BMW,Audi and Merc.......well.....unless if u're filthy rich. But i won't buy a Proton eventhough I'm a Malaysian.I'll be better of with a 2nd hand Civic.
