I like the new body shape and tail pipes but it needs the fog lamps.
The HSV version is going to be great.

Especially if they decide to get the LS7 in there.

I have seen a camouflaged model driving adelaide for a few weeks now. They are nothing special. I will take a photo next time I see it, it is rather strange compared with the vz's. Its blue and the rear taillights are retarded.
HSV have already stated that the LS2 will be the only power source for their cars for the next few years so unfortunately no LS7. The v6 will be roughly 200kw, the ss and other stock v8 holdens will use the LS2 and have around 280kw and the HSV models will have roughly 315kw. |

I've heard conflicting reports about the V8's used in ordinary Commodores. The website, www.drive.com.au, recently had an article about the usage of an alternate 6.0L V8 engine, called something similar to L67, with roughly 270kW.

My grandad knows mike simcoe the chief designer for holden and the ve commodore, which is where I am getting my source. One thing is for sure the junky LS1's are going to be replaced.

I thought Simcoe was promoted to design GM vehicles in the States?

I believe he has been, I got told this about 6 months ago. Not to sure what he is doing and what cars he is designing.
Anyway, the camouflaged VE driving around adelaide is well...disappointing to say the least. Hopefully they perform and handle better than the current models. Off topic:as if the mitsubishi 380 got the best large car for 2005. Who ever voted for it really wants to keep mitsubishi afloat. |

Like I said, it was something similar to L67. It's close enough.
Smartass.

These days the Holdens are victorious in almost every way - performance wise that is.
It's just the weight of those busty Fords that holds em back, but apparently the Boss 290 lacks bottom end urge, MOTOR is always saying this. Kinda like a torque hole tilll about 4000rpm....then it's only got about another 1.5 to 2k of revs left. A bugger off the line.

do you watch the preformance car series with the FPV GT, HSV GTS, HSV GTO, Subaru WRX STi, Mitsubishi Evo, Nissan 200sx etc?
The Hsvs are faster in acceleration, top speed and completely outbreak the gt. Gts dont really compete with the hsvs. |
