well, on the central coast of california (where i live), there are a lot more 300zx's than supras, which makes it a rare vehicle over here. i've only seen 3 in my town.

anyway, i would go with the supra because it's the most beautiful jap car i've ever seen, and it's a 2+2 (to carry along your friends for the joy ride :D ).

The Supra is the better of the two..I believe most people would agree to that. But for the money the 300zx is better. They are more plentyful and cost much less than a Supra. Those selling Supra's for $50,000 used need to pull their heads out of their asses.

Here in Greece, there's none of these 2 cars. :cry:

acording to SPORT COMPACT CARS ... the supra's price of the last generation was if its in an EXCELLENT condition the price would be 38000$ not 50000$ ...
but from whats written there too the best supra was in the 1997 .. they sold the car as a limited edition ... 15th Anniversary models..... it have lits of extras and it have 6 speed gear box again ... u have Rear Spoiler and lots more ...

in the magazine they say its the best model of the Supra check it out !

ok here comes people im gonna lay it out on the table............ :twisted: the supra runs a tt strait 6 as you all know i hope, the 300z runs a v 6 tt. the engine on the supra has a v-tec type valve controller. so basically your running 3 kinds of boost plus its a straight 6. the 300z is a standard twin cam tt v6. it doesnt have the take off a suprqa has but it definatly can have more high end potental then the supra depending on the set up. but personally i think watching them race is what some would call clash of the titans.......... :roll:

Im pretty sure the normally aspirated supras are the only ones that have VVTi.

im not so sure - Ive think ive heard of VVTi Supra with their twin turbo.

Anyway why should the fact of having turbos or not effect the camshaft?

im not so sure because i love supra it's faster and nicer im not so sure if it's smooth

well i consider VVT a type of boost because you can disable it it may not be psi boost but i mean engine boost. your right turbos have nothing to do with the cam shafts but the VVT doest and it boost's the car forward heheh but with out turbo i do consider it N/A with out turbo because it has nothing to do with the air flow. but valve timing so it is a motor function :wink:

I think this is coming down to a, "would you like gold plated silver? or silver plated gold?" tpye question. I personally am a Nissan type of guy, but I do have much respect for the Supra, seeing as it is basically Toyotas only real pure performance sports car, and afine one at that. They are both beautiful, powerful, and aren't too much diffrent in price for similarly conditioned ones. I find myself saying this alot, but they are both supremely awesome cars that look killer stock, but have tons of options for aftermarket body and aero kits. Tuning potential is also extremely high. For my money though, I'd take a Fairlady Z. Everyone's seen the Supra on BOTH Fast and Furious movies and has a tiny tiny bit less agressiveness to it, it's more suave and sleek than mean and solid. Okay! Thats enough rambling. Z's for me mom! :mrgreen:

Even though the supras faster, I like the Z better because it has a cleaner look than the supra.

I vote for the 300zx too. I always liked that car... :roll:

O and im a Toyota Fan all the way, plus the supra is the greatest Sports car Made by either toyota, nissan, or mazda IMO . . .

A supra can beat me on the drag strip yet I can easily out pull one on the highway and easily out lap one on the track.

Drag racing is for amatures...that's why I own a Z.

BTW...people who use phrases like "fast and furious" or " I thought the supra had a V8" are completly clueless and should research a little.

Im with TTB there. the supra never had any sort of V8. think about how many japanese sports cars use V8s? thinking.......................not a clue. japan uses turbo 6s for its best sports cars. thats one thing i must give to japanese cars. no american 6 cylinder engine could hold a candle to japans. but then theres the TTV8.......

Well that was kind of a given. If there is a comparison between your all time favorite car and some other car, you're obviously going to pick your all time favorite car. But in this case (i dont know if i responded to this already) I will have to agree with you. The 300ZX TT is lower and wider and meaner. It's more of a road race car, which is what i like about it. The supra is just fat and ugly. I dont like it too much.

so i go for the supra without a doubt

I would obviously choose the Z. But how I came to make that choice is as followed.

I test drove both of them along with all the other japanese supercars of the era. The Z just felt like it was the best of everything. It doesn't do any one thing great but it does everything well. The supra is for drag racing and that's all it's good for. The RX7 is great for road courses but lack the grunt in a stright line. The 3000GT is a great all weather car which owns all the others from a dig but is very slow from highway pull speeds. The MR2 is a true 2 seater but lacks a whole lot period. The Z is not the best cornering car, there are faster cars in a stright line but none that offer the versility of a Z. In stock form it's comfortable, fast and turns well....a true GT car if you will.


I guees I can say it does do great on some things. It will take a supra with almost 200WHP more than me to match me on a highway pull. I run quarter mile times equal to those of a 550WHP supra where as my car has 100 less than that.

but for look i think 300zx looks a lil better ans less cheaper but everything else SUPRA TT. worth the money
