this is one of the people i really admire , he is the manager of the classic car club in israel and he owns this great Camero ,
he likes american muscle cars but hates there behaviour , after along time of preperation and importing alot of parts from the US he is building his car with a one week project of combinning and installing all of the things he planned .

An american 1980 Camaro Z28 on its way to become a Pro-Street Car !

the modifications that he will make includes :

2. a new V8 engine with 410 Hp
3. new Rear vented Brakes " with holes ( trying to be as clear as possible) "
4. Koni suspentions
5. Traction Bars so that the car won't sink when acclerating and to get less understeer
6.Sway Bars , a rear one 3.15 cm and a front 2.85 cm .
7.improving the chassy ( with bars or what ever its called so that it can handle more pressure - if any one understands what i ment explain it to the others )
8. FlowMaster
9.a new improved and more powerfull TCI new Gear Box
10.all the gumi stuff in car will be changed to poligrefet ( including the "Front" and the streering system )
11. a fast steering 12:1 from RACING APPLICATION , insted of 18:1 in the original
12. new improved aluminume pumps
13."lighting system"- (bad translatin)_ MSD
14. aluminume radiator
15. a system to check the the AIR/FUEL mix

Is he gonna get it painted? Cause I wouldn't mind the car, even without any modifications, with a different color  I've neve rliked "gold" or "bronze" or whatever they want to call it.

Wow. No offense, but i didn't know people from isreal do these kind of things (don't blame me, blame the media). Thats pretty damm cool. I was wondering if that was a 350 small block GM crate engine. I'm just guessing, cause the horsepower sounds right. I'm not much of a GM guy though.

mainly israelys don't do such things couse its illegal , even a spoiler is illegal .
but some do some tunning too , although its illegal , some do it really shity and some do it real good .

this guy is one of the best i know , to make the thing legal , the guy had to make lots of prosedures , to make the engine legal he had to go to the traffic ministry and show them that there is a camaro which have this engine ( came out of the factury that way ) so that he can install a legal engine , other things police won't know the diffrence .

for the engine i don't know which block , but i know its the biggest for the camaro , it have 410 Hp when it was produced in the factury , after modifications it have 470 or so ( as you can see its still not tested or finished ) .

i will send some other pics and exapntions about the project when its done

ok here is the specs and the information about the engine - if you can get the info that you want :)

http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/autopartsphotos/crate/410hp_graph.gif

The Edelbrock Performer RPM engines are based on the GM ZZ short block and includes high-quality parts for outstanding street high-performance. The engine assembly includes flat-top pistons, a forged steel crank and 4-bolt main block. Complete with Performer RPM aluminum heads, the Performer RPM cam is matched to the compression ratio, manifold and carb for maximum power from 1500 to 6500 rpm. Choose from a Performer RPM manifold or the RPM Air-Gap with the race-proven air-gap design. Select either an Edelbrock high-performance Q-Jet carb or a Performer Series 800 cfm carb with electric choke

http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/autopartsphotos/crate/perf_rpm.jpg

i guess this is the info that you wanted right :)

by the way i asked him from were did he import the parts and so on

the answer was :
1.Summit Racing
2.Jegs Racing

Blu i know you are the expert here so tell me what do you think about the engine and are those tunners known /?? ( couse i honestly don't know them )

Thats a pretty good set-up. should put the car in the 12's easily.
Summit and Jegs are basically the two largest parts sellers in the USA, they are not tuners. They sell parts. LOTS of them lol.

Neither is better, short block is basically just the bare block, while a long block comes with more parts like the crankshaft, pistions, manifold etc....

ok the project is in the final stages , it wil be over next week , pics of the final car will be posted later ...

here are some other pics of the project

the steering and the front parts - made from "polegrefet" wich is better than the gumi used in the regular sports cars , more power full and helps the car in corners ( the car don't sink in corners )
http://www.classiccar.co.il/camaro/7.jpg

i don't know the name in english but you prbably will know the part - after cleaning and repainting
http://www.classiccar.co.il/camaro/9.jpg

the headers after cleaning - one is covered in the pic with some sord of stuff which reduced the head in the engine box by 70% ( the second is already covered but not in the pic )
http://www.classiccar.co.il/camaro/8.jpg

the chassy layed down with some part like the bar and the Koni , steering box....
http://www.classiccar.co.il/camaro/10.jpg

the chassy conneceted to the body with most of the stuff , now the part of installing the wheels and the brakes and the front part will be done
http://www.classiccar.co.il/camaro/11.jpg

pics of the final project will be posted when its done

Hey nice car man. Love Camaros and speaking of Camaros here's another one. Its my brothers friend's and its a pretty sweet late 80s IROC-Z. This guy also recently bought a new GTO. All I can do is envy him...

Actually yeah.... 6 gears - menual, 17" wheels, 275 (245 current) on the back, 245 (current) front, still thinking about NOS....not sure about it. well, that's for now :)

It's a 5 sec 0-60mph car, about 12 sec on the 1/4 strip. if ill change to slicks, it will go to lower 11'. it turns like it's been glued to the road, just like any top europian sport car.
