I raced a Typhoon that had alot of mods, that thing did sound like a jet when he was building boost for the launch.
I never got my ass kicked so bad lol, ran mid 11's I would guess.

A friend of mine has two syclones and a typhoon. His fast syclone is and 11 sec dragger. This Typhoon will have a turbo'd 8 cylinder in it in not too long. They are really fast trucks.
Check out www.turbotime.us for pics of his truck on his site.

True, I get a lot of those "i beat this guy racing today" crap from an old friend who owned a volvo. And I always smiled and said "that's cool", but one day i was so fed up with the stories i asked him "are you sure these people were racing you?"...Im not saying ur dumb black 68, im just saying sometimes its hard to tell whether you're racing or not. Take me for instance: im lead foot and im glad i dont have a very fast car cuz id get myself in a lot of trouble, but most people think i drive fast so i can catch up with them or like im trying to show off. I really just love to speed, but they interpret that as i like to race, i know my 99 civic isnt fast, but some people actually think that i believe my car is a supercar.

Thatcrazyguy240 dude Camaro's are slow as hell i dont care if they have a v8 they are heavier than hell and are overated just like vipers and ferrari's. What do you even have Thatcrazyguy240 are u even old enough to drive lol. Watever u got i will put my EVO 8 against it anyday lol.

i think its a combo of a big turbo, blow off valve and about 20000 dollars of other misc. engine components.

You live in Colorado as do I. The elevation is killing your car. A stock 2000 mustang will run low 15's here. I imagine you car with the mods you listed is in the mid to low 14's which sad to say it pretty slow in comparison to most modded eclipses. Hell there are 11 second DSM's here that are daily driven.
The "jet" you were hearing were the turbo spooling, that sound means you are about 4 seconds away from getting your ass handed to you. I have a feeling this story is askew or the guy in the eclipse didn't know you were racing until after the launch. This is due to the fact that 80% of all modded eclipses are AWD and an AWD DSM would eat you alive out of the hole.
There is no such thing as an "upgraded blow off valve" your car either has a stock recirculation valve or an aftermarket blow off valve. And both do different things.

And "Miss" Bliss, he said nothing wrong, a rice rocket, the Eclipse, versus a 1.4 MILE PER GALLON Muscle Car...where's the missive??
Ok, old topic but sure, why the hell not...
First off, I want to live out in colorado for three reasons:
1-Gorgeous, just spectacular vista's EVERYWHERE, and roads to match them...
2-The roads...
3-The scenery
Ok...so it wasn't really more than one reason...
Anyways, here on the East Coast we get FWD Current Gen Eclipse RS's (that's the four banger FYI everyone) trying to show up Camaro Z28's that aren't just modified under the hood, but in the suspension department, brakes, and weight dept. Personally, it's the opposite from what I've seen out here, Eclipse's, RSX's, and *shudders* Supra's being spanked to high heaven both at the streetlights and turns...Now, the simple reason is economics out here. The guys that own the Camaro's are in their 30's and have other cars like their nice lil' 3 series' but they are car guys through and through. Whereas the import fanatics are less wealthy, and simply don't have the cash for the upgrades on their cars, or the repair bills when the shitty tuners messed up on the installs.
So, not knowing where I'm going with this cArp, I'll just shut up...Besides, most of ya'll know I like every type of car, import, domestic, exotic, etc...for all the differences in the world.

I'm willing to bet that the eclipse gets about the same mileage as the camaro. I get about 14MPG in my car which is modded. People don't realize that boost sucks gas. On the track I get about 20 minutes per tank of 100 octane.
The road conditions in colorado suck, that is why people in colorado who are concerned about going fast other than in a stright line opt for suspension mods first and power mods second. With the on/off winters the roads suffer. Take today for example, it was 12 degrees when I left for work at 6am, it was 50 at about 3pm and when I got back to the shop it was 19 degrees at 4PM. Those temps wreck havoc on roads. But I did take the car uot tonite and it was pretty mean. But...... The sheer layout of the roads is unmatched by anywhere in the world I have been.
More about the topic now. People at this altitude who are concerned with performance opt fo a turboed car. Hell I was almost dead even with a 2003 cobra when I was near stock. At the strip I have taken a camaro (1998) which had a 383 stroker with a 125 shot. It goes to show that you must consider he conditions when elvaluating a race.

Being dead even with a high 12/ low 13 second car is no great feat. I since have moved on and don't consider too many stock cars a very good race.
Now supercharged C5's are good competition.

let me take you back to reality, even if your car was nearly stock or somewhat modified, your 300z TT is still no match for an '03-'04 cobra let alone a 125 shot ls1 camaro.

I have seen the video. The fact that a trans am with a 200 shot( yes it was 200) beat a stock turboed Z means nothing to me. I'm not on stock turbos and I haven't been for quite some time, nor was I when I ran that camaro. The difference between that 300zx and mine is about 100WHP.
Most 03 cobras run low 13's here, I was running a 13.7ish when I ran the 03 on the street. That's not a whole lot of difference from a dig and it's even less from a highway roll where the aerodynamics and powerband favor a 300zx.
Last summer I ran an 11.78 on street tires and pump gas. I believe the camaro was in the 12.20's on slicks.

Been reading www.twinturbo.net (http://www.twinturbo.net) have you? I never said his car was stock, I said his turbos were stock...which means that at MOST he was running 400WHP because that is all you can get on stock turbos.
You can think whatever you want to about what I say. I have a fair amount of knowledge compared to most members on this forum from what i have noticed. I haven't yet seen anybody who sounds like they track their cars too often.
So A guy sold his Z for a cobra? There are also people who have sold their vipers for Z's.
They are slow for the money you put into them? Tell that to Zo who ran a 10.60 on a stock bottom end. Tell Chip Ginn who ran a 11.74 on stock turbos, injectors and intercoolers.
By the way what do you drive? What is your best time on the strip? How many fuel maps have to modified? Tune an SAFC yet?:D

Camaro
Vette
so far what i have done with the 20 years of my life is:

drop 13b in '70 510
race karts since 16

You neglect to mention that vipers cost twice as much as Sean Wagner's car which he recently sold and it made a mere 744WHP. I bought my car for $12K and have spent less than $10K on ALL of it;s mods including a set of $2200 wheels and fully tuned on race gas it made 507WHP. It currently makes 440WHP on pump gas. Pics are available upon request as they are on my desktop computer.
Yes any car can be made to go fast with enough cash. But how many LeMans wins do the GN, supra, vette and camaro have combined? yeah that's right thats still less than the Z driven by Millen/Dale
I'm only 22 my boy, and have since built an engine from scratch. MADE a big brake kit to fit under stock wheels, fabricate my own roll cage which can be removed in 20 minutes. ect ect ect......point being that if you want to make this a pissing contest you are surely out matched.
No I have not raced go-cats with the kiddies, I insted sent my teen years becoming a world class professional mountain biker..where your physical condition wins racing, not your cart.

You're a f*cking idiot then
Gj next time give a reason, otherwise you're the IDIOT.
It's funny how this started, I doubted what TTBLISS had to say then he asks me what i have done concerning cars, and I answered, then he answers back with a mountain bike champion or whatever... AHHHA since when do cars or racing have ANYTHING to do with mountain bikes?
And im not asking about mountain bike racing im talking about motorized vehicle racing.
And to brag about working on your own fuel maps (that is the first time EVER some1 bragging about fuelmaps), of all the things hes done "built an engine from scratch" and he says he modifys fuel maps?
That's like saying he raced a civic and won, and then he races a Ferrari 355 and beat him too, but not mentioning to anyone that he beat a Ferrari.
Then he brings up the price of a Viper:
1: If you're going to mention a Viper forget about going back to how much it costs.
2: Next time I'll talk about a Foxbody stang and how those will destroy most cars on the road for dirt cheap, specially Twin Turbo 5.0s

haha im not even going to look at that video, as far as im concerned
that includes civics, integras.
i never even see a fast 300z and i live in Cali, the king of Modified cars.
so go ahead look up a fast 300z in TT.net, its not my cup of tea, considering you can spend that money on a better looking supra which is also a 6 TT.
"300zx comp. video" that means a video that is made out of other videos with 300zx's. Is that hard to understand? The only "ricers" must have been the 300zx's beating the viper and cobra.
Never seen a fast 300zx in cali.? Well try www.socalzcrew.com (http://www.socalzcrew.com) unless a 10.6 on a stock bottom end is not fast. Especially when the car was built for racing on a track and not a strip from the factory. The video with the 10.6 is an in car video and if you watched it you would notice that there is NO weight transfer thus proving my point. He dumps the clutch at close to 7K RPM's and it still doesn't weight transfer.
Sure you can make a supra haul some serious ass at the strip. Shame they can't be fast on a track too.
But you don't even know what a fuel map is....and if you plan on tuning a car to peak performance you might want to become familar with them as well as a timing map.

Sure, I'll get them posted this weekend. All the ones I have are pretty old so I'll try to get ahold of a friends digi cam and go snap some more. I wish I knew how to transfer a video camera film to my computer. I have some good footage including a 0-150 run from inside the car.

I didnt mean what i said about 300zs being slow, who am I to talk i drive a slow auto 240sx. I brag about fuel maps because tuning my car made an extra 40WHP. Yet you know nothing about tuning cars. I also built my enine but that takes little skill as far as I am concerned. It's just turning a wrench, you can try to complicate it as much as you want but in the end that's all building an engine is. You dissemble an engine, get the machining done, order parts and assemble, it's as simple as that.
$2300 of my $6K was on coilovers alone, I spent a LOT more on suspension than I did the engine. I did a big brake kit which cost me quite a bit even though I did that myself. I spent over $2k on turbos alone as well....
Unlike fanboys such as yourself my main concern was drivibility, both on the street and the track. Peak power for drag racing was not my intention, if it were I would have a 600WHP dyno queen that would be no fun to drive on the street because peak power would be achieved at 5500RPM+ How often do you drive over 5500RPM on the street?
I take tons of pics of my car..but not on a digi cam. I let my girlfriend them with a 35MM and let her develop them because that's what she does for a living. You cannot get good pics with a digicam and a printer. I would rather have a nice picture on my wall than one on my computer to show to pathetic fanboys like you.
All I hear from you is when I do this and when I get that, yet you still have a slow car. Talk is cheap. I already own my car.

i would also think twice before saying "karts are a kiddie sport", when it is one of the steps to getting to race professionally in F1, Cart or any open wheeled type racing.
what do you think F1 champion Michael Schumacer does when its not F1 season?
you doing 120 on a corner or even reaching speeds of 150, still doesnt equal the sensation of doing over 70 and close to 100mph,
1 INCH from the ground, this is also with the engine screaming on your right less than a foot away and karts dont have suspension, its basically a smaller F1 car.
anyone can bring their car to a 1/4 mile & drag, some can even bring it to a track, but only a few have been to a kart track and have been on an open course.

lol they are 315's I catch a lot of **** because of it but I hook up like no other coming out of turns and on the launch. Pretty much the biggest I could fit under there with no rubbing. That is the main reason I went with CCW's, because they are a true 3 piece wheel and I eventually plan on getting another set of "rims" so I can switch sizes of tires in an hour or two Just by taking the wheel apart and switching out just the band. Plus they are one of the few companies who offer custom offsets and such for under HRE prices.
Normally I run with stock wheels just because of the price of those tires kills me every spring when I get a new set.

I have a set of JDM tail lights I have yet to install, I alredy have clear front corners but I think that's all I will ever do. Everytime I go out for a drive with my friend who just bought a Z, I can't help but notice how beautiful the lines of the car are as he's driving along side me. Thats why these are track wheels. My car is not very legal here in the states but I have never had any problems with the law. It has no front plate, the tires on those wheels are not DOT legal, I have no emissions equipment ect.....
My stock wheels came with 225/50/16 on the front and 245/45.16 on the rear and I can spin them through third gear on high boost. That is why I bought a set of purpose built wheels for the track...I could care less how it looks as long as I'm turning in good times.

I have an Intake, ECU, downpipes and midpipes (no cats) LeBree exhaust, Nismo 555cc injectors, Stillen intercoolers, one piece alum DS, JWT sport 530 ball bering turbos, Ogura twin disk clutch, short shifter, Built engine which includes JE pistons, Manly rods, JWT HD valve springs and retainers, had everything balanced, the crank knife edged and other small various machine works done. The suspension is ALL aftermarket including Apexi N1 coil overs upper and lower arms strut towr braces, solid tension rods ect.. The interior is pretty stock minus the shift/e-brake boots which are black with red stitching, the Profec B spec II boost controler is in a custom console, the turbo time is in the stock clock location, the roll bar is out for the season but can be put back in in about a half hour. The 4 point harness is made by M&R. I have a big brake kit which uses rotors from a VR4 but retains stock calipers so it can be used with the stock wheels as well a strictly track break set up from a 996. I;m sure I'm leaving a few small things out but that's the bulk of it.
Thanks for the kind words.
