You should find a pic of the stock integra type-R. The above is for racing or sth...
Btw I'd like to see some specs for the Integra Type-R.

It is very performant indeed.
I'm wondering if it could be even more fast and fun to drive than the Civic Type-R.

First off, there is some baaaaddddd gramar in the title. Spelling what as wat i can deal with. But "more better" is just wrong. Come on, who started this topic, a three year old.
I would take the RSX. It just looks cooler, and i imagine it's more powerful, right? The civic typr R has 197hp, right? The RSX type S here has 200 hp, so i would think the type R is more.

The Civic Type-R has 200 PS. And btw a 3 PS difference is not noticeable... :D

I would think the RSX type R would have MORE than 200hp.

What's the difference between a Type-S and a Type-R?
And what's the difference between an Integra and a RSX? Are they the same cars with different names?

why does everyone say "I like car A" and post a modified and tuned car A against a stock car B?
Anyway, I'd go for the civic si. Theres a tuning supplier called SKunk2 that could do a really cool job on the power and drivetrain. I'd also get an HKS turbo(or two) and find a really nice bodykit. I dunno, the new Civic si looks really cool to me.

Did the poll question ask about the integra? Well, anyway. The RSX is the replacement for the integra, so you can call it either name and basically be right. I'm pretty sure Type R is a step above Type S. power, suspension, ect wise. as well as price.I wish I could have the Civic Type R(02) I ahve on my Sega GT 2002. So far it's under 1000kg in the weight department, and over 400 hp  That'd be sweet. Actually if I really did have one, I'd be most satisfied with 300-330 hp as a final output. CF hood, trunk, rear veiw mirrors, would be sweet too.....I need to stop this wishful thinking :P hee hee

First of all, maybe the integra is more powerfull, yeah 3 hp more (nothing) but the civic is lighter and have the spirit, history and the atitude.
About the discucion between "Intrgra" ans "RSX" well...
Acura was made in 1989 and the first car was the NSX, since then, the Acura try to put a more luxurious touch in their cars, and Honda put a more "racing-style" on theirs.
So is pretty much the same car, but just check the seats, on the acura´s the leather is so luxurious, and in the hondas the leather is more rustic, with colors and stuff like that.
but the reason for doing two cars from one is simple, is about marketing...
Acuras are for grown ups, and Hondas for young people. they atack two kinds of markets, without spending money in research, for making a new car, thay may not be as good as Integra-RSX is.
Also the market becomes wider when one of these two companies is not present in certain countries

(?1) I have no idea. (?2) There is one difference and thats the engine. (?3) Yes the RSX and the Integra are the same cars. Its just that the integra just stopped naming themselves integra after 1999. Then they started to name the integra-- RSX in the year 2K. I think they also called it Acura Integra RSX. Maybe im wrong .. who knows? :)

Im just going to clarify some information for everybody about the "integ" and "rsx". First off, as most of you know, there is no "Acura" therefore our version of the "rsx" is called the Honda Integra in Japan. Yes, its pretty much the exact same car but different specs. Therefore, when talking about the Integra type R, you can either refer to it as the First Generation, which were familiar as the "old integra" or the second generation " which is really the RSX type S for us". anyways I know all of this is really complicated but just try to understand :/.

I'm really confused. :?

Nov 25, 2003, 12:59 PM
lol i know what i said is very confusing but here it is in simplest form.
1. In the US, the Acura Integra was discontinued and replaced by the new RSX
2. In Japan, our RSX is still known as "Honda Integra:" to them because they have no Acura.
3. The United States' RSX type S is virtually the same car as the Integra type R in Japan.
I know this is somewhat confusing but once you understand it; it all will make perfect sense to you.
jimkk29
Nov 25, 2003, 5:36 PM
It's more confusing to non-US ppl because Acura only exists in the US.

Acura is the same thing to Honda as Lexus is Toyota.
2001 Acura RSX (DC5 chassis) is the same thing as a 2001 Honda Integra (DC5 chassis), however there are differences between the Acura RSX Type S and the Honda Integra Type R, which I have mentioned here (http://www.sportscarforums.com/showthread.php?p=14281&highlight=#14281) .
Also the Toyota Altezza is the same car as a Lexus IS 300. So please don't say you have "Altezza" tail lights when you only have "Altezza-Style" tail lights. I'd bet most of you didn't know that.

The DC2 JDM ITR looks better than the DC5 and the CTR.

I knew that... but only from playing alot of Gran Turismo 3  Otherwise, I would probably only know cars as the way they're presented in America. I really wish foreign car companies would stop trying to confuse us Americans by changing the names of their cars... they can call it whatever they want to, and I'm either going to like it or not like it, regardless of the name (well, okay, with the exception of the 'Probe')... and I also wish that Americans were able to buy all of the same models that are available in Japan and elsewhere, without having to spend $50,000+ to have a specialty company import and modify them to U.S. specifications (which are ridiculous if you ask me, but don't get me started on that...)

No ofense to "Acid Java". You posted this a while ago, im new and just read it, I cant let it remain unclear. This is part of your post, "Acura was made in 1989 and the first car was the NSX", This is NOT TRUE! I am not specifacally sure the exact year acura came out, but being an acura lover, I and many of you should know that Acuras first integra was in fact made in 86, these were 1st gen, from 86-89. They had the d16a1, a 16v dohc motor that produced 112hp from 86-87 and 118 for the 88-89. ;)

AMEN! Seriously, if they can tweak out the RSX-S or integra R to have 210hp, Imagine what they would, or could, now do to an H22A. Big 4cyl, more high end(right words?) torque, and a faster travel at higher speeds.
I liked that racing Integra A LOT, that ish is hot. the back end really finishes it off!
im not a fan of the new SI, despite the nice 197hp. Only SI i liked was the 99 coupes. I'm actually very impressed with modern 4 cylinder technology! i mean, i know im digging back on past forums, and it's a little off topic, but could you imagine what the lineup would be if the Type R or RSX-S had 80 more horsepower AND went up against a 2004 Stang GT? Big difference in amount of cylinders, but i think 4cyls are going to really start giving big blocks a run for their money

Honda in japan calls our RSX the integra still soooo i was wondering which you were talking about. the Pre-RSX integra or the current RSX. i absolutely hate the integra type R engine from the earlier integra. 200hp, which is nice for a 4 banger.... but the the max torque of 123lb ft...ACK
