there is a playstaiton version sold, apprently it was released in north america but i'm not sure

i have great news for intial D fans VERSION 3! of the arcade game is coming out in or aorund January 2004 so that means there maybe a late summer 2004 release for north america! :lol:

sorry for bringin back a somewhat dead post, but i was reading thru this and nobody really explained what it was.
it's a japanese cartoon about a high school kid that, ever since he was 14, has been driving early in the morning (4 AM-ish) to go deliver tofu to a hotel or a restaurant or something for his father's tofu shop business. the restaurant he delivers to is across some mountain pass on a mountain called Akina. basically, since he has to do this every day, he wants to get back home as soon as possible, so that means driving fast through these mountain passes. however, he has tofu in his car. so his dad gives him a cup of water to put in the cupholder, which is pretty filled, and if the cup does not spill, the tofu will not break. so he learns to drive insanely fast through this mountain pass by Drifting, and not spilling the water while doing this.

and thus begins the story about him meeting people who race on the mountain passes, racing them, etc. etc. by the way, he drives an AE86 Trueno. that's a 1980's corolla for those who don't know. supposedly it's a monster in mountain passes because of its balance. so as you can probably tell, he faces some beastly cars, and, well you can see what happens if you watch it.

it was broadcast in japan, and it's in japanese. fans subtitle japanese animation and release them all over the world.
