ehhhhh i dunno - i cant chose between the three, i love all trhese cars.
Probably the Veyron at the endo of the day, the jag, on the inside especially, looks a little dated.
id have the the bugatti over the McLaren due to its better handling/speed. I think 8) .

Definately the XJ220 for me. Such a beautifull vehicle, looks way better than the other 2, i think.

And by the way, Marshall.... The pic of the McLaren you posted? That's the GTR, the race version. Are you sure that one counts as well?

I voted Veyron but I don't know which car of these is really beautiful.I don't think that any of them is beautiful.I'll choose XJ220 for the beautifulest!

Because : I think u guys already know i DISSLIKE the design of the Bugatti! It's looking wuite ugly to me , and than it was between the McLaren and Jaguar , hmm i thought the Jaguar was indeed the most beautifullest of those three!!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Even the most beautiful cars have their share of criticism. In this case, all three cars are of such radical design that it's very difficult to judge purely based upon appearance. One could also argue the quality of materials used inside each car which would very much affect the 'beauty' of the car.

Based solely upon the power, handling and engine design I'd have to go with the Veyron for its W16 Quad-turbo engine, which produces a staggering 1001 bhp. The exterior design of the Veyron is not only stunning, but functional. Air is channeled around the car to areas where it is needed, radiator, a/c, cool brakes, intercooling and to minimize lift. This car is a true beauty, which deserves recognition.

I am so curious!!I saw here in Greece a Mercedes SLK 200 Kompressor which crashed and it went up-down.I don't know if you can understand me but I can't say that in English. You know the up went down and the down went up.I don't know how but happened! If a car like Veyron do that with 200 or 300 km/h what will happen??? :?

mallon
Aug 14, 2003, 4:09 PM
well you gave the right english!
i would doubt they veyron would flip considering the dowforce especially at those speeds.

Aug 14, 2003, 6:04 PM
yeah indeed i was thinking about that too!

But somewere i read that he is electronic speed limited at 250 km/h
Seems logical to me , the car doesn't have a spoiler like F-40 F-50 , so i don't think he have's much downforce!

Well. Did you guys knew that a F-50 with 230 km/h could drive upside down , like in a tunnel or something!

Funny isn't but they said that's because of that MASSIVE spoiler!

an Evo 7 could do it at even less speed!

what do mean the bugatti has no rear spoiler? Its a variable spoiler which gets steeper and higher as the speed increases.

huh?

Oops didn't know that!
But does a spoiler like that have much effect??
The spoiler is lower that the roof of the car..
I can Imagine taht a poiler like the F-40 has have more effect because thjat spoiler is higher than the roof!??

I think it just won't ginve enough downforce for that high speeds!

1. I agree with psh. ('beauty is in the eye of the beholder' - that was niiiiice!!! )
2. The Veyron has a large spoiler (does not need to be huge) that is hidden in slow speeds and gets up at high speeds. It has been specifically designed to produce much more downforce than virtually any other car. That's why the car can go to 406 km/h.

mallon

the spoiler on the Veyron isnt really that big. So how can i produce more downforce than any other car?
Like the F40/F50, Evo4,5,6,7,8, RUF '996'. These cars all have massive spoilers, theres no way that the veyron could produce more downforce at the same speed.
(remembering the downforce is created by angle, height and aerofoil quality.)

Are you sure Evo counts there, i dont thinks so, but well, the Enzo produces more downforce than the F50 without any spoilers, the whole design of the car produces downforce, and the Enzo design makes downforce variable with speed, therefore the higher speed ability, downforce is disminished at higher speeds by the shape of the car.

Mosler MT9000 photon for example, no spoilers either, but it has so much downforce that i cant go further than 356km/h.

I think we got over the big a s s spoilers era.

By the way, i don't think the Veyron engine is that marvelous, it has big cubes, four turbos, DOHC heads 16 Cylinders 64 Valves and i think variable valve timing, so let's say the engine is a bit underpowered for all those features, if you combine all that you should at least get 1500 hp, but thats just my opinion

Imagine the V8 7 litre Saleen S7 producing 550 hp with OHV heads

Then lets add another 7 Litre V8 there at the same crankshaft, 1100hp, now, four turbos, one for each cylinder bank, let's assume a 30% gain 1430, all that without variable valve timing and DOHC heads, and 2 valves per cyl, i think the engine could easily reach 2000hp at low boost.

Now, bugatti doesnt need 2000hp, so i think they would have a more acclaimed engine with a NA W16, what for are four turbos?

The same happened with GT90, two 360hp Duratec V6 in a common crankshaft, but the difference is the turos were there too cool down the engine, and where running at very low boost, the car got over 990hp easily, with 4 less cylinders, and no VVT.

Perhaps you're right, but don't forget that the Veyron has 'just' 8 litres displacement, and also don't forget that the redline is only at 6500 rpm. With some more research and development they could get the redline at 8000-9000 rpm and my guess for the horsepower would be about 1500. They could even increase the pressure of the turbos.

I know, but it sounds like an hypermegafking tuned engine, but with 8 litres 16 cylinders, 8 cams? 64 valves, variable valve timming and 4 turbos you expect more (i wont mind having the car, i just dont you needed all that stuff to get that output)

You have to remember - VW dont have free reign to make whatever silly BHP engine they want. They have EU laws and reg.s to comply with in terms of emissions and noise.

Oh yes I forgot that too!!
I heard that this Bugatti engine makes a hell of a noise and they're trying to figure out ways to reduce it!!

hey guys!

i'm getting sick of this...

DOES THE VEYRON IS ELECTRONIC LIMITED OR NOT?

I swear i read about enough site's he is electronic limited at 250 KM/H!!
But i've heard and read somewere to they have electronic limited him at 250 MP/H that's 400km/h !!
But many site's say that he is limited at 250 km/h?

Could someone help me with this ? Does someone know this FOR SURE??

Thx!!

It is electronically limited to 155MPH/350KPH.

You can have it removed with a suitable license.

Why would it be limited to 250MPH?
Cars are limited to 250KPH to keep ze germans happy.

Alfa Romeo 156 GTA

hmm 350km/h or 400km/h hehe almost the same if ya drive it on the highway!

What is a suitable license? yopu need a license to remove that limiter?
Are we talking here about money or driving experience?

Yeah i had the same question why should they limited their cars on 250mp/h ,. but i read that so :S
I thought 250km/h could be true , much german cars are limited at that speed.. although i think that isn't always funny!
like BMW M5 ect.

how do you mean its not important? We're just talking about the speed of the Veyron!?!

Come on... you'll only be able to reach 300 inside a track, and a quite long track too! :)

The Veyron is a wonderful machine but is too heavy and is easiest to control 600HP of the mclaren than the 1000HP of the veyron
