Me I like the GT-T it's a great car and it's the most commen of the lot here in Oz. U can get a good one for not to much money. It's under-rated and lives in the shadow of its brother the GTR

I don't know exactly, but I know that it's significantly faster than the RX-8.

I'd go for the skyline. I don't like the styling of the supra. And i don't like the name ofthe silvia. It sounds like a librarian with pointy glasses. I really don't like the RX-7. Sure, it had a cool engine and nice styling, but it wasn't reliable. The main problem was the oil filter. They put it behind the rear suspension for some reason, so it was an imense pain to replace. And since it's hard to replace, it probaly wasn't. This would gunk up the fuel filter. This would then choke the engine of fuel, perminetly damaging the engine. Thus, costing about 10 grand to replace the engine and the turbos. Not cool. The fuel filter would only last about 50,000 miles.

They have about 1.5" difference for the 0-100 km/h!!
The RX-7 was also more brutal because it was turbocharged.

The Silvia is a very sleek, sexy, and powerful car. If we're talking stock, I'd definitly take the Silvia. If it were called "The Betty Boop" I'd still ****ing take one. Silvia isn't a bad name, I think it'smuch better than "200SX" or whatever it's called here in the states.

If we could have a modified car from the ones listed above, I'd take the Supra S900 AB-Flug

id take the RX7...none of the other cars can handle as good or have as much acceleration off the line...especially when modified...the RX7 is also the lightest of all of them...the suspension geometry is the best of all of them...second i would take the silvia...great handling car...drifters car of choice along with the rx7. if RX7s are soo unreliable etc...how comes my friends 7 has been standing up to 5 years of abuse...and he has a 3rd Gen FC....that he modified...right now he's rebuilding his turbos to make more boost

this is HARD

supra is amazing with a lot of tuning capability, and modified supra's do amazing things, probably greater most of what the RX and skylines have done, but it doesn't have as good handling is RX or skyline, skyline probably has the most tuning capability and is one helluva track car, it's simply a legend, RX-7 is also a legend it's really good with handling, it's real lightweight, and tuners such as peter farrel have done amazing things with it, it even won the le mans race in 93! the only thing is: it has no torque, but i mean, it still won over all the other cars in the le mans

can someone post specs of sylvia? i got no idea about it

Rouin
Feb 06, 2004, 2:07 AM
i think the S15 silvia's about 250bhp, 200 ft lbs torque.
it's an I-4 though... out of these three there's a turbo rotary (rx7), 6 cylinder turbo (gtt), I-6 turbo (supra), and an I-4 Turbo (silvia)... although i really dig the looks of the silvia, i'd have to go with the rx-7 for peformance. rotary! so light, so cool. i think it has the best styling also out of the four. nice comparison though!

by the way i did "show picture" on the pic of the skyline and it looks like an evo8... ?? found the wrong pic?

scientist
Feb 06, 2004, 11:27 AM
the spec R aero silvia makes 280HP....all these cars are evenly matched....the running order around the track would be....RX7, silvia, Supra then skyline....we are talking about a GTS-T skyline...handling aint as good as the supras...don't believe me?...watch best motoring

the supra handle fair, but but the rx-7 is still the better choice in a all out drift.
although none of these vehicles can drift with some of the older heavier cars.
I seen a 1987 mitsubishi Starion, eat a 1993 rx-7 alive in a drift once about 6 months ago.
but it all depends on the driver.

The RX-7 is TEN times better than the RX-8. The 3rd generation RX-7 came with Twin Turbos stock. Even if the Rx-8 cranked out the same amount of horsepower, the RX-7 was much lighter and more nimble. Whats with the 240hp MT and 200hp AT on the RX-8?? It's between the RX-7 and Skyline for me.. but the Supra TT is pretty sweet.. although it's not an option.

what is this about a RX-7 winning le mans? As far as i know, the only japanese car that has won lemans is the mazda 787B, which was hardly a RX-7. Maybe i read the post wrong.

wait a minute... they actually make Skylines RWD???
Skyline is nutthin without all wheel drive, that is the only reason a skyline could compare to a supra...
The supra would smoke the GT-T simply cause it can find its torque at around 2200rpm
Supra hands down...

Chief, if your idea of "muscle" is a "conservatively" rated 8.3litre engine which struggles to make 500hp and uses such primitive technology as OHV 2 valves per cylinder.
A 2jzgte angine can be tuned to 500hp with ease and this is a 3.0litre we are talking about with DOHC and VVT words not very familiar to "american muscle".
I think you need to question where exactly that foul odor is eminating from... and upon closer inspection i believe that you would realize, that the source of the said stench would be your own upper lip...

I'm behind da Skyline all da way. Mainly cos I've raced an RZ in an R33 GTS-T and beaten it (somehow) and the Silvias are nowhere near as gud as the Skylines. But it would be fairer for the Skyline if the GT-R was compared rather than the GT-T. What's up with that? [-X Or is it another way of saying nobody can compete with a GT-R? :D Hmmmmmm......Common people! Lemme go race an RX-7 and I'll tell ya how I went. That can be the final word on this issue.

This is a revival of a very very old thread..

They all look and performs good but I would prefer owning the Skyline.
