S Type Zero NSX...and a side of fires please. Though the RX-7 A-Spec Type-15th is hella sweet as well. The NSX has a bigger "cool" factor for me and it definitly has a better tuning potential, so yeah NSX for me. It's more exotic, as exotic as a Honda can get

Yeah, don't compare a super tweaked cars looks to a stock one, its unfair and inaccurate :P

My bet is for the RX7, my favorite japanese sports car along with the Skyline GT-R(from R32 to R34). If you want something rare, the Mazda is the best option with that Rotar2 rotary engine. The best version is the Mazdaspeed RX7 A-Spec '99.

http://www.whs-online.de/fd_bild_048.jpg

Of course I also like the NSX too. And, for being honest, is more suitable for racing.

This is classic GT2 NSX, the Castrol sponsored.

has anyone noticed how a 290 HP NSX can keep up with a 405 HP Z06 corvette? (and not break down every 100 miles)

specs are usually accurate, but not in this case!

if the 2 cars were stock version; i would probably choose the NSX

and if they were souped up; i would still choose the NSX

oh, also, can someone give me the specs (HP, torque) of the RX-7?

i dont really see how you can compare the 2 cars stock... but as far as modding goes the rx-7 is the way to go. the 2K4 nsx though looks amazing (looks exactly like the enzo) and will have 350 + hp.

NSX all the way!! There handling base is a lot more there a hella lot wider and lower then the RX-7 and not to mention they have a lot of horse power to the wheels! 8) Look at how much they are used in real racing not these cheap ricer races.

yes what a hard choice to make- the rx7 is so sexy! the NSX looks nice as hell too dont get me wrong.....this is hard... :D .......i've seen a stock RX7 take out the all infamous R34!!!, plus an r33, two lancers and the NSX type S and S-zero! on a track im sure some of you have seen this.....BUT like mentioned, i do get super confused as to why the hell the underpowered NSX can keep up (nearly destroy!) many "super cars" like the ZO6 and many other exotics.....the new NSX NEARLY beat the LAMBO muriecialago on a track!!!! basically lead the lambo 95% of the time

jimkk29
Nov 18, 2003, 5:07 PM
It's because of the set up of the car. Ayrton Senna himslef helped set up the NSX. And btw, it's not underpowered... The VTEC V6 has race-like specs.

i would pick the rx-7 knowing that it is a rear-wheel drive car the nsx is also rear wheel drive but not truly what im geting at is this honda/acura fliped the engine from the base of a f designe to a mr base designe. i find that the rotery engine seems to be more confedent when driving with it but the nsx does have high potential for power but id take the rx7 nsx to narrow in length rx-7 nice big butt and wide

RX-7 without a doubt. In New York, I find that bouth the NSX and RX-7 are equally rare. I know that the NSX has slightly better performance specs, but I wouldn't even consider racing the car anyway. The RX-7 has a better looking body that you just can't resist.

Mar 13, 2004, 8:30 PM
Rx-7 man! the rotary engine is light, gives a fair good F/R balance (dunno the exact specs on the 2). As far as handling, the Rx-7 was 1st on a best motoring video. They raced R34,R32,Rx-7,NSX Type-R.... RX-7 was first. but the R34 was catching up.

NSX handles like crap in PS2 games? What game are we talking about? I always pick the NSX in A class races because it's the most well balanced. They're amazing cars. Still sexy after 12 years. The Type R was definelty the best out of all of them though, with the NSX Alex Zanardi edidition in a distant second. Plus, Honda is renowned for quality. Mazda is not. Even though the TT Rotary engine is a great performer, it wasn't very trustworthy and was basiclly shot after 90,000 miles.

I agree with mopar. The mazda RX-7 does perform beautifully, but it is not as reliable as the Acura NSX. Plus the NSX has many other things over the RX-7. I hate to say it, because i almost traded my civic in for a 93 RX-7 with 65k miles for 6 grand, but i did a lot of research and found out the reliability. Too many engine problems with the rotary.

I really don't think the NSX and the RX-7 should be compared together, since they have such a massive price difference.

But if you are really wanting an answer, I pick the RX-7, especially the versions Series VI and onwards. They are one of the sexiest shpaes on the road today, even after 5 or so years. I don't like the NSX, both the looks and the performance. It is such a rip-off for such an average car. Honda says it's a supercar. I disagree.

The RX-7 is the working-mans sports car, while the NSX is a modern Japanese supercar. You CANNOT just compare horsepower numbers people! I guarentee that if each of you drive a 1994 RX-7 and then drive a 2004 NSX Type-R or even a 1992 Type-S Zero 100% of you will choose the NSX. Not because its newer, but because the NSX is a supercar, and out performs the RX-7 in ALL aspects, not just hp numbers. I am even an RX-7 enthusiast and I STILL believe that the NSX would kick the crap out of the RX-7.

Honestly, the HSC sucked in my humble opinion, it's styling made me want to kick the s**t out of whoever had a hand in it. It was a flat piece of styling crap, and I'm glad it got cancelled...Now I'm not glad it's 100% cancelled, I just think they, Honda, needs to restyle the whole thing, listen to the owners and EVERYONE IN THE DAMN WORLD and drop a friggin' V8 in their, otherwise Honda's gonna have another failure on its hands...Face it, the NSX is outdated inside and outside, and it's competition is way better for cheaper money.

The HSC design was scrapped.. not the project itself. They were kinda just toying around with design concepts, and wanted to see how the public reacted to it. And according to inside news, Honda will have a replacement for the NSX, in '06, might be an '07 MY.
