Ok, where I live there is an urban legend about some drug dealer careening down the interstate in a black lambo at night. The story says that he drove down the opposite side of the highway with his lights off and wore night-vision goggles so that he could see. Apparently he was running drugs along the east coast and used this technique to avoid the cops.
I doubt this story is true, but it would be pretty cool if it actually was. Hence the badging as an urban legend.
I was also wondering if anyone else had something like this to share with the forum, being that most areas have their own unique urban legends...

Actually, that Lambo "legend", is true, (or so I've heard) NY state cops caught him courtesy of some tips...And a spotter plane.
Also, he wasn't on the wrong side of the road. He was caught about 5 or so years ago I believe he'll enjoy his lifetime imprisonment harshly...

man, that drug dealer must have been a serious noob. You dont use a lamborghini to smuggle drugs. You use a toyota corolla. Cops will never find you!

Yeah, but you can't outrun Camaro cop rockets in that. :D
actually i read in the news paper that that happend in houston texas. the guy was working for the mexican mafia running coke. he would put on night vision goggles and run down the back roads from houston to austin. people near la grange texas complained about cars reving their engines every saturday night. so cops set up a few places wherre they think the guys were doing it and stared camping out there on saturdays. one cop left his radar on at night accendly and went to sleep. around 4 am his radar went off showing a speed of 183 mph. so they added more cops to this one road. next weekend they left their radars on again.. and all went off around 4 am again. for 2 more weekends it kept happening. people were still complaining. so the cops deciced to do a little test. when one guys radar went off he called the guy a few miles down the road to put out spike strips.....
BOOM. the guy hit them so fast that it decentergraded the lambo. allong with the coke and his body. the guy was only 19 years old. and he made 350,000 us dollars each way. they think he did this for 3 months.
end of the ledgend.
peace

Yeah, as you can see its been exaggerated a little bit over the years. I had no idea that it happened in Texas as well...
It didn't happen anywhere. Don't you guys know about snopes?

I cant say this is an urban legend but its has something to do with bikes going fast.
Anyways, i read in the newspaper some years ago. Some guy in a bike went over the speed camera threshold. The speed camera had no reading because it was so fast.
Then some stupid guy did runs of the harbour tunnel going very fast on his bike at night. He did this on a regular basis. Obviously the cops set up a trap one day and caught the guy.

I heard one about a skilled driver in Japan that once a year covered his Supra with police decals (or some other law enforcement decals) and drove through highways with the only pourpose of causing accidents. He did this for a couple of years but got busted, I heard the trashed his car while trying to get away from a scene.
I don't know if this is true.

Hey, I have one for you... I'm not sure if this is true or not but here it is anyway!
A guy was working on his car one day, changing his clutch to be more precise, but in replacing it he forgot to tighten it, then as he started it up in his garage and started to rev it the clutch shot through the firewall like a circular saw and cut both his feet off!
If you have seen a RX-3 drag race you would have seen at least one or two clutches shoot out off the bonnet of the car, so you can see how this could be true.

Oh ho ho, I have seen the RX-3's do that, and I must say that wouldn't be pretty. But...I reckon this story is bullshit. Clutches are positioned vertically, not horizontally. If it did shoot out of the firewall, I don't think a vertically placed clutch would cut the feet off a person.

I heard that one where I live in memphis around 91. The story HERE goes that he was driving out on the far end of a road that runs the length of memphis city and finally slammed into a cop car after the cop pulled out in front of the Lambo after a quick nap.
Amazing how that one got around. :)

I've seen the RX-3 'pop a clutch' at the '03 Jamboree. It took out a few fuel lines on it's way out, causing a fire, and they driver was so disappointed and angry, he got out of the car, and burned his hands opening the bonnet for the fire crew (very casually I might add!) then threw his helmet into the crowd.

If you want to sell drugs you don't want to drive a lambo. It gets to mouch atention. Would bea a stupid idea.
