Rendering looks great, and I like the idea of the V8 with two small turbochargers in the engine. However, a Gallardo V10 does sound brilliant I have to admit. I really like that engine, makes a great sound. 500lb ft across the range sounds brilliant aswell. Can't wait for the RS5 now. Shame the RS4 had to go out of production though.

i think the a TT V8 seems more appropriate than the V10 .

A V-10 is a cheap shot at its competition. The only way Audi could diffuse the M3 is with a bigger engine and brute force, but that's not going to make it a more pleasurable driving car. Audi needs to do something with the handling. Their handling is positively dead (my friend's Dad got rid of his '04 S6 for a '06 335i just for the handling). That speaks for itself.

the standard rs4 engine would be fine in that considering its got same power as its rivals except mercedes

I've heard one of the reasons of Audi's bad handling is that their automatic transmitions require the engine mounted in front of the front wheels. Thy are trying to fix this problem and seems like everybody is looking forward to it.

audi's handling isnt 'dead'. motortrend and car and driver magazine both praised the RS4's handling and report it offers as much feedback throught the wheel as the new m3 and was faster through some corners, audis handling isnt dead,the RS4 certinly shows that, as does the R8. Most people who have driven the r8 say it handles better then a 911........

and your friends dad who sold his s6 for a 335i, the 335i is a differnt car then the then the s6, in both size and their intend purposes. so it doesnt speak for its self

my dad sold his hummer h1 for an ariel atom (lie). that speaks for its self. it doesnt but ok

back on topic I would like to see the RS5 get a twin turbo v8 and make about 450BHP, and audi needs to make it lighter and more sport oriented.

^Any Audi that doesn't have "R" in it's name, handles badly. Sorry, but the S4 wallows, and the S6 rides too hard, and isn't anything special.

The RS4 = mmmmmmmmm
R8 = mmmmmmmmmm
S5 = meh, ride too bad, handling not good enough to make up for it. looks OK though.

I reckon the RS5 will use the V10, it's about time we saw some high revving V10 action from the inventors of FSI...

if they coud get a reliable 8500RPM out of the V10 w/ an screaming exhaust note im all for it... as long as it doent add extra weight

when i ment audis handlg isnt dead i was refering to the 'R' models as you pointed out

I think the RS 5 should get an engine of its own. Not something from another car. MAKE IT UNIQUE!!

Looks like a pretty muscular coupe, seems Audi is on a roll now. Just hope this design makes it to production.
