All-New 2011 Porsche Boxster Artist Rendering
With the first generation Porsche Boxster being introduced in1996 and second generation under the 987 platform designation in 2004, the third generation Boxster is due for an launch in 2010 as a 2011 model. This time line coincides with the recent announcement by Valmet Automotive Oy and Porsche AG to extend Boxster production in Finland until 2011.
Since the changes between the first and second generations were a modest warm-over, although Porsche claims only 20% of components were shared, the third generation is expected to be all-new with a more dramatic design while maintaining its core Boxster identity. Judging by the rendered interpretation above by Lars Saeltzer, the third generation Boxster will resemble Porsche's discontinued Carrera GT V10 supercar. We certainly hope so!

^ Never say ever when its already happened.
Look at the Cayenne, it's strikingly similar to the Toureg. Maybe its because it was co-designed.
I can't wait till the next boxter comes out. It'll be a dream to drive and maybe by the time it comes out, I can afford one.

Headlights straight from a CGT, front bumper revised from any S-line Audi, and Cayman rear quarter panels.
Badass.

The first Boxster had a dumb looking pseudo teeth-missing-996 front end, and a super dumb looking rear end. It was also disproportionate and sort of akward (big overhangs, too short of a wheelbase, kind of tall looking). Still, it's a killer driver's car. Shame it was hampered by it's pricetag and a whole slew of better, cheaper cars.
The current Boxster is much more finished looking. the front end stying is great--it's obviously a Porsche, but also obviously not a 911--it's balanced looking, it's lines make sense. Unfortunately, it's hindquarters still look like half baked biscuits. Either way, it's one of the best roadsters on the market bar none...it's almost worth it's suicidally high price tag because it's apparently automotive heaven to drive around. If it was 10 grand cheaper, I feel like it'd be nigh unstoppable.
My opinion of this particular rendering is that Porsche would be taking a huge step backwards with making the boxster look like a baby CGT. Hopefully, they let the CGT's bones and face rest in peace for pete's sake, and don't make the Boxster a red-headed stepchild in the Porsche lineup again. Let it take it's own course, like it is doing now.

I think this one looks great. Aggressive front end, and like skyline said, it just looks pretty badass. Looks good in that brown aswell. The other Boxsters, as VTEC said, looked a little disproportionate and they didn't look all that pretty. However I think this one is great and if I was in the market I would seriously consider buying one, and although the current generation Boxster is a great car, just seems a tad bland looking. This model gets rid of any blandness anywhere. Nice one.

It's so nice. It reminds me the CGT. It looks cool. I hope porsche to produce it. Let's see!

The front end is a lil' bit ackward to me but otherwise, I could see this working out for the Boxster.

I don't like the Boxster, I like the concept, but not the car itself.
Straight up, it's a girls car. It's not even a baby 911 any more, because we have the Cayman for that. So where does this car stand? It needs to compete with the likes of the latest BMW roadster, and whatever Japan has to offer (350Z, at the moment). And this 2011 version doesn't look all that great. I must admit I prefer BMW's outlook on design, the ability to create something more unique, I mean, look at the difference between the Z3 and the Z4, totally different look. This Porsche compared with the current one, just doesn't cut it. Hats off to the laziest design team in the automotive world...
