Hi,

here's the thing, time has come for changing my tires and rims on my 1992 318is, i have thought about Falken FK-452: 225/45-17 (front) 245/40-17 (rear) on 17"X8" rims

will it fit the car or it's just gonna be to wide for the fenders ?

BTW, my stock tires are 205/60-15 (front & rear) on stock bmw rims 15"X7" and there is a good distance between the fenders and tires.

thanks

Ask a BMW forum they can give you an exact answer if there is going to be any rubbing or anything.

Because of the sidewall height on the old tires they're going to be barely bigger.. assuming you're at stock height I'm sure they would fit.

Your rims might be too fat for your car. In this case, you need to buy spacers.

Also, you may, may, need to roll your fenders.

These sizes are 96+ e36 M3 and all sport package e46s tire sizes so yes they will fit your 92 318is. 95 M3s came with 225/40/17s on a 17"X7.5" rim all the way around. You really should be putting a 17"X8.5" in the rear if you are going to use 245/40/17s. If the rims are all 17"X8" you really should be using the same size tire all the way around. 225/45/17s would be the tires size to use with a 17"x8" tire. So you can rotate them and it will be cheaper in the long run because you will not be replacing tires as often as you would with the staggered sizes.

I know staggered rims and tires look hot but they are just not worth all the extra money that comes out of your pocket. Believe me I have owned several cars with staggered rims.

What rims are you getting to put on the car? You will not need to roll quarters or fenders if you do the correct rims and tires. What do you have for suspension?

BMWs are normally set up for under steer and for you to put a staggered set you will get more under steer. That's just no fun. Stick with a straight set of tires. 225/45-17 should be fine. (I own an E30)

true, because having your tires sticking outside of your fenders is against the law.

Search roadfly.com BMW forums for a downloadable Adobe file of every possible wheel that will fit on any BMW built.

Do you want real rivets or fake rivets; and could you tell the difference, philip77o?
