I ran across a descent one with 56,000mi on the clock, a flowmaster muffler, and sat nav all for $9,000. is this at all an involving car to drive? im considering getting one, or the impreza 2.5rs, which ive had some trouble locating one that fits my scenario

If he lives in the US it's front wheel drive, thats all we got. And since he called it a Jetta, I assume he lives in the US.

The 24v VR6 is a great car. I have a 12v VR6 Jetta and its very easy to drive. Mine is a 5-spd and super easy to drive, shift, everything. I bought mine with about the same amount of miles on it and I just rolled over 100,000 miles and it still runs great.

The 24v is even better than the 12v though, you get 200hp and a 6-spd tranny (if its a manual). Those trannies were a lot better than the 5-spd because the 5-spd tranny had problems, but they fixed that with the 6-spd.

There is a guy on my VW forum, just turboed his 24v and is putting down over 400whp, on stock internals.

Great cars, I'd take a VW over a Subaru any day.

VW are fun quirky little cars...but they have their fare share of problems like anything else.

i think i like the 2.5RS more. i've read quite a bit of negative reviews on the quality of the jetta, specialy the VR6. the impreza's reviews were quite good actually, plus its AWD.....

who knows i still have another 15days :p
