Ever since the C63 AMG was released I have been a fan. IMO it is one of the best looking saloons on the market. Its comfortable, it is practical, you have the luxary, and the performance. No way would I shell out the money for a Brabus tuned version however, or really even the standard model at I believe 93k US when I could have an RS4 or 6 for nearly 30k+ less. See my biggest problem with Merc, aside from the automatics is the way they make use of their outrageous power. I dont know if anyone has seen the Top Gear episode featuring the SL65 AMG Brabus tuned edition but it basically shows why putting down 700hp and nearly 1000 ft lbs of torque in a Merc is relatively useless. For starters the electronics in the Merc, as sophisticated as they are actually inhibit the stability and proper useage of the car. You can turn TCS off, but its never fully disengaged. This causes the car to constantly exert braking pressure to various wheel while laying down the power in a corner which then causes the car to bobble in a sense mid corner. That and the weight and dynamics of most of these super mercedes really doesnt allow them to handle all the well to begin with. So in essence you have a car that can trounce most cars in a straight line sure, however if you have any interest in tracking the car and what not or even attacking some serious twisties you may want to think otherwise. If I were to consider owning one of these big bad Mercs it would have to be AWD and have the option to fully disengage TCS and ESM, untill then Im happy to just look at them as say, nice car.

I couldnt agree more with everything that you have said. Wonderfully engineered cars with prestige and luxury but such a useless waste. I mean the only reason to have this car with that kind of power and that kind of money shelled out is to have a Merc. Other than that you are wasting your money. Then again if you can afford this kind of car, you are buying the name and dont care about money anyway. Thats why Mercs are my least favorite cars IMO, but they are impressive...
