I am so close to buying a completely mint '04 Ninja 250R. I saw the bike today and rode it, and I hope I can work out a deal with him. I say, if I get the bike, I'll take a road trip up to canada and we'll ride.

I'm not sure what it's like in Florida, but here's what I had to do:

-Go to the DMV and apply for a non-valid permit
-Go back to the DMV and take written and visual test
-Wait 6 months (if you're under 18)

From here, you can do two things:

-Apply for a motorcycle safety course
This course will teach you how to properly ride a motorcycle. In most cases, once you graduate, you recieve a road test waiver and a break on your insurance. However, this costs money and time, so it's a trade off. I highly suggest it.

or....

-Go back to the DMV and take the road test with your own bike (bikes are provided in the safety course).

I go there, or did until I got a job at my first college, each summer in August for two weeks.

It's about 20 miles north of Kittery. Which, I've been too many-a-times...=)
