To understand completely what took place about two hours ago you have to understand that it took me about an hour to calm down...
And with that out of the way, let me tease you all some more with how this "religious" thing took place. I was in my dad's Mustang with the top down, he was driving as we two were just coming back from a local Single A baseball game.
We're driving on the highway Route 9 on our way home, the speed limit is 45mph, and here we are moving along at that speed when my dad, normally a very calm and collective man of 53 years young goes, "What the **** are THOSE?!" while looking in the rearview mirror and VROOOOM, two blurs flew past us. We were in the middle lane btw, 3 lanes in each direction. Both cars must have been going at least 130mph + because even my eagle eyes couldn't figure out what they were, until...
heheh...They two drivers apparently agreed that stoplights were worth stopping at, and about ten seconds after they passed us, there were the bright red lights of their brakelights fully on and loud screeching, both of them managed to lock there tires as they stopped in the left and right lane...Guess who was in between them???
Turns out the one on the left was a red monster, a Ferrari 360 that thanks to my incessent reading of "Forza" magazine, was actually a modified Ferrari 360, by a company called Novitec...Interestingly there is one in the newest issue of Car & Driver (I'm keeping that issue till I DIE!!!)
The one on the right, surprised me that it wasn't a mile ahead of the Ferrari, was a car which I never thought I'd see outside of the NY auto show, an Aston Martin Vanquish...
Just so you can all understand the true *gravity* of this situation, the Vanquish and Ford GT are my dad's favorite two cars. And who the HELL am I to argue with a 460 horsepower GT as a favorite car??
So there you have it, two of the fastest cars I've seen on the road in person made me look like I had dinner plates for eyes. On a related note, tonight was the first time I've ever cursed in front of my father, to absolutely no rebuttal except, "Buhhhhh...whaaaa....huhhhh??" Yeah, I think he was impressed as much as I was. Also, they smoked us at that light, and by smoked, I mean, Pirelli is going to need to send a shipment of tires for a Vanquish and 360 Modena soon. And yes, they were just as fast accelerating as braking and passing.
This almost spiritual experience made me realize something, and I say spiritual because of its timing since I start class tomorrow, that I need to do reeeeealllllly well in school so I can afford either of those...
So there you have it...I'm SPENT.
