Well, I decided to make a thread with an official sketch of what the 2009 Jaguar XJ will look like and some brief info about its engine line-up and so on.
The engine line-up will consist of the following:
Diesels:
-Possibly a 160bhp 2.2T I4
-a 206bhp 2.7TT V6
-a 240bhp 3.0TT V6
-a 276bhp 3.6TT V8
Rumours say that a bigger and/or more powerful diesel (problably a highly-tuned version of the 3.6TT V8 or a whole new engine, most likely a V8) is on its way a few years after the XJ's launch to compete with Mercedes and Audi's extremely powerful diesels.
Petrols:
-Possibly a 197bhp 2.5 V6
-a 240bhp 3.0 V6*
-a 250bhp 3.2 I6
-possibly a 300bhp 3.2T/TT I6
-possibly a modified version of the 4.2 V8*
-a 360bhp 5.0 V8
-a 500bhp 5.0 supercharged V8 (featuring in the high-performance XJR).
*Engines may be replaced by different versions of the 3.2 I6.

Also, it's been said that a powerful V12 could be introduced into the line up at some point (although that may have all changed, due to Ford's selling of Aston Martin; no V12's will readily be availble to be modified, and whether Jaguar will have the funds to make one from scratch is unknown), to help the XJ compete with the best of the best, such as the Aston Martin Rapide, Bentley Continental Flying Spur and the Mercedes S65 AMG. This model would be more comfort and luxury-orientated, unlike its performance-orientated 'sister' car, the XJR.
It'll have all the fancy stuff, such as Jaguar's touch-screen interface system; basically like BMW's iDrive (already used in the XK, will be improved further in the new XJ), its aluminium-alloy structure, its air-suspension and CATS suspension system, and should still weigh in at under 1700kg - very little for a huge luxury car like itself. It'll still have the XJ's class-leading driving dynamics, competitive pricing and Jaguar's great build quality/reliability.
Although it has some of the same styling cues as the new XF, it will remain a class of its own and with a separate styling flavour, and one of the key designs will be the company’s new saloon car trademark rectangle grille design, and the ellipsoid grille for sports cars, which is seen on the new XK series.
