Hey guys I finally got some pictures of my car. It's a BMW 318i with the sport package. I havn't done any modding to it yet. If I do it will just be intake, new chip, and exhaust.

you should get some M3 alloys onto that, it would make it look better

^^ Good point, I'm also going to have it repainted. I'll keep it white, but the whole body will be white. I wonder why BMW leaves the body kits gray?
ohh, feel free to photoshop it anyone.

sport package? u sure about that because it looks like a basic model to me with no colour coded bumpers

^^ Ya, I'm sure. It says sport package in all the documentation stuff. The bumpers are different than the normal 3 series bumpers. I've done some looking around, and every E36 with these bumpers have them colored gray. As far as I can tell there are three different bodykits on E36's. The normal ones, the sport package ones, and the M3 style. It also has traction control, manual gearbox, and all that.

your car looks nice, and the angled shots were good. but it looks a little bland and could do with a nice body kit or so, and a better performance upgrade.. or maybe just a new paint job, and new rims, it may sound simple but when you apply a new paint job with new rims it'll look cool.

nice....i got a 2007 323i recently, and its a beautiful ride. so i think that yours wont differ by too much.

how much did you pay for it?

Nice car mate. Although i cant wait to see you replace the rims since the current ones look boring in my opinion. Also i'm looking forward for you to repaint it white, since the grey bumpers and side skirts are ugly. But overall it's nice and it seems like you got it for pretty cheap i say?

it's a nice car. Is it an auto? It'll look nice after a drop..

^^ It's a manual. I got a really good deal on it. I kind of ripped off the dealer, and that never happens. Around my area 318's go for 8 to 10 grand. I got mine for a bit over 5 grand! All it needed was new belts! It has 100,000 miles. The leather is like brand new, I mean it's flawless! It's a fun little car. It's reasonably fast and handles like none other!

You might not have had it for long enough but do you know if the replacement parts expensive?

I was looking at some old Bimmers and that was one of my concerns

Because at that era, bumpers were not made from traditional steel. I think thats why they left it gray.

You can put a M3 motor in it, but be carful! I knew a guy that was a complete dooshbag. His car was identical to mine. He put an E36 M3 motor in it. The moter was highly modded, 600hp at the wheels. He didn't upgrade the chasis or the running gear. He was on an onramp close to my house that turns almost completly around, very sharp. He romped on the gas, and ripped the body off the car because it was so powerfull! If you do a conversion, reinforce the whole car to handle the power! I've also don alot of research on engine swaps for the 318i, and most poeple say that it's not worth the money or time. Everyone says that your better off buying at least a 323i or higher for an engine swap. Somthing that already has a six cylinder.

that's not a bad car. it's still in good condition at least. yeah i agree with everyone else. the rims, bumpers, side skirts gotta go. even though it's sport package, it's still made from that plastic-ish material. what about the interrior condition? does it have leather?

ok thanks, yeah I admit, it's not the best car for that kind of engine... is there a bmw engine that is a little powerful than mine ? I'll tell you guys want i want to do with it...

i would like to repaint it (black again but there's some rust on the body kit...)

a new exhaust system

a new engine ( not too powerfull, not too expensive) (it can wait too..)

new rims cause those ones suck hehe

i can show you guys the car...

Have you got any interior or any other shots?

philip77o
Jul 02, 2007, 2:09 PM
of my car or the white one ??

BMW_BOSS
Jul 02, 2007, 5:32 PM
I don't have any interior shots, but I could take some. Philip77o, keep your engine. It's the M42 moter, and its more powerful than the new BMW 4 banger. I think it's called the M43, but I'm not positive.
I also want to get angel eye head lights, but they aren't a priority right now.

Yes you can but the mechanic who will do this modification should know and to have done these projects again.
Your car is good. The rims should be changed. And try the first stage modifications. Air filter, exhaust and chip. :)

So I was thinking about getting some HRE wheels until I saw the price. Holy hell, $1,600 dollars for some 18" wheels?
Edit: I should clarify, EACH WHEEL is $1,600.00!

grab some BBS wheels, go on tirerack and see which one you thinhk fits you more, you could change the sizes and stuff...a closer look on the wheels are also possible if you want, and prices are stated out clearly...

heres the whole series of BBS wheels i saw in tirerack...
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/bbs.shtml

heres what i found for a 1996 318i which i think thats the year of that car...
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/results.jsp?filterSize=All&filterFinish=All&filterBrand=BBS&filterSpecial=false&filterNew=All&autoMake=BMW&autoModel=318i&autoYear=1996&autoModClar=&sort=Brand
