I was going pretty fast at 1am i went from rt46 to 23 as i was coming onto 23 my tires began to slip and I lost control of my car's tires i guess they hydroplaned out of control (driving around 45-55mph) car spun and front drivers side hit the concrete divider, passenger's front air bag went off mine did not, no cars were on the road so I was able to drive home (less than 5 min away from home) was unable to switch to 2 gears and fourth only 1st and 3rd. see attached picture. Seatbelt on my side which i was wearing saved my ass but bruised my chest a little. But I'll never try to go fast again when the roads are wet EVER again

Edit: I just noticed this now my license plate and ez-pass I lost them dam....

Sheesh thats a pretty damn bad wreck there. going fast on a road risking a car like that and knowing your consequences was a bad idea. Just keep it cooler on the streets. anyway, pretty bad wreck, but it doesn't look that bad though, the front bumper, the bonnet, and the right headlight look in pretty bad condition but atleast for your sake there wasnt any more damage to the exterior.

Damn, that looks bad. But at least you walked away with very small injuries. The car is damaged but not too bad, i think you can get it repaired, but it might be a little expensive though.

Also just curious, why didn't your airbag deploy when the passenger side did? If it was a big impact that might have killed you since it didn't work, but at least you're ok now, at least you've learnt your lesson...

my thougts exactly, a pal of mine was a new driver and crashed his clio into a bridge with me in it at about 45, it took that to teach him to drive normally

^ That's half the reason there are only 4 people I will let drive me anywhere, and only then in extreme cases. I don't trust anyone I know, least of all my mates. If someone crashes and nearly kills me or anyone close to me I'll kick their ass.

he was kinda in a bad way anyway so i think kicking his ass wouldnt have bothered him but got me behind bars, the car was messed up, written off before reaching the 500 mile mark,

do not know why my airbag did not go off insurance company will pay to have the car fixed fully i have to pay the deductible of 500 dollars but I'd like to know as well why the airbag did not go off. The interior of the car no damage at all except the passengers airbag went off, right by my rear view mirror where that sticker is the winshield was cracked...

any reason why the picture was taken down?

nevermind i think my work firewall is blocking it

A bad accident happened to you.So you will learn your lesson now.Don't ride fast in the wet.
Insurance will fix the car probably.
Driver's airbag didn't open.Just imagine how you would be if the accident was more badly.Injured and in worst cases....!You should check it.

The insurance company totaled the car, I will be getting Yaris liftback (http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/FirstDrives/articleId=108501) unless someone can reccomend me a 2-door 2-seater that will not break my bank in the insurance department...oh and is under 10 grand...

I have a DSG R32, that would simply not happen, even in the wet BUT:

The 4Motion will understeer of you take a bad line, the ESP thingy will get it back easy.

Great car, but pricey, try and get the RS4 seats fitted to a 5 door.

Do not buy a Yaris, it is the worst thing I have ever driven, and cannot keep all four wheels on the ground in bends taken quick. A cheap 2 door 2 seater, I would go for the Toyota MR2 or Mazda MX5. (or is that MX2??) Great little car, like a modern day MG roadster.

But as for a European car: er that is a bit difficult, How about an MGF?? or a Mini Cooper

Insurance calls that totalled? Man, they're smoking the good ****. But I guess being a VW it would be expensive to repair.
Anyway, good thing you're ok and please don't even consider getting a Yaris. They look as feminine as pink lipstick and blush but nowhere near as good.

to most insurance companies, totaled= cost to repair car is greater than actual value of car. after seeing the damage from the pics, i could see thoses repairs costing thousands and depending on the original condition of the car ,such as mileage, year, cosmetic defects, i could see that as totaled(in an insurance company kinda way).

tough break on the wreck i guess. unfortunately you had to learn the hard way when it comes to higher speeds and wet roads.
