the wagon's rear lights reminds me of the Merc ML. other than that, the car doesnt appeal to me

Wow some nice pics there. I like them. The station wagon is just going to have to be my pick out of the sedan and the station wagon, the sedan just looks sooo outdated and old to me. the station wagon to me however looks classy, stylish, and modern. the taillights look good too. the performance isn't too bad for this car either. by the way that interior looks quite good too. good to see renault come up with something creative! overall i like this car, but not the sedan though. station wagon version is a lot better. nice pics by the way..

sorry to be blunt but, No I do not agree.
That car is extremely ugly eccentric. They try to be as eccentric as Citroen and end up looking tryhard.

Interior had resemblance to any new BMW, and the wagon beats the hell out of the sedan in looks by a mile.

Hey, me neither, it's all too angular, I mean, it's not bad, but it'll take some getting used too!

The wagon looks fine in black. I don't find the car appealing to me. The front fascia, the interior, the rear end (sedan), they all look boring to me. Heck I found Toyota Aurion more appealing than this. Just my 2 cents ;).

I agree with clutch, i think it really does look gorgeous, but the taillights for both the sedan and station wagon are a little bit weird. But it's still sexy overall, especially in black. The interior looks pretty comfortable as well, it looks very hight tech. The rims aren't too bad either...

well the car dosent look too beautiful or tooo damn ugly, its okay, but the hatchback looks like an extended version of the BMW 1 series, the back of the 5 door looks like a Seat, i mean, the car company seat, the front looks very familiar, not sure where i saw it before, but very familiar...well i do love hte interior though...that is lovely

The back looks like the new Ford Mondeo, I guess it looks OK, I just hate wood in cars!!!

First this happened to Audi with the A5, and now Renault. Still, it does look great.

Reminds me a little of a Citroen C6. If they sorted out the headlights and made them into more regular shapes, the whole car would look a lot better. The back of it is looking great I think, especially the estate version. The estate version is a lot better looking (from the back, anyway) than the saloon version. The interior is great, as it was in the old Laguna. Good layout, good materials used, and overall, it's got quality.

That is a beautiful car. Renault has did something right :D . I mean look at the interior that is different fo Renault. I would buy the wagon though. Overall the car is sexy adn a giant leap forward for Renault.

Everything looks unbeliveablely good. The interior is brilliant, but then you look at its face and die.
I mean why, why go to all that effort to make a car look great, and at the end just slap a big o'l ugly front on it. Dosen't anyone on the design board just say, no, thats ugly try again.

That's beautiful. At least, the shape is. The front lights (and rear ones on the saloon) will take some getting used to. I have faith in Patick le Quement, though, so I expect they'll grow on me - he is a brilliant designer.

Too me it lacks the sharp, cool styling that the new Mondeo and Vectra have got, headlights look damn ugly and too big for the car and the rear lights look alright but overall I think this is a huge disappointment from Renault but hey its not the first time is it ??

Beautiful? I suppose you can call it beautiful if you're the kind of person who looks at Joan Rivers and thinks, "Yeah, I'd like to hit that."

Uh, yeah, possibly not the best post I've ever written. Brain fart. However, my point was clear. You can't just throw around the word beautiful, especially for a Laguna that's bland. There are few beautiful cars today and this is definately not one of them. It'll be a nice drive like the old one, but it's looks are so boring.

I think this car is "beautiful" in the same way the Vel Satis was "beautiful". it's a Renault. you judge from that on. it's all subjectiveness.

at least I admire them for trying. they saw the Avantime go wrong and still they went on. then they saw the Vel Satis go down and yes, yes, they fought for their vision. I don't like french cars but at least for that: respect.

Are you telling me what I think about the car, or what you think? Are you telling me what i should think about the car... or telling me I don't know the meaning of the word beautiful?

I'm just going to try it again... you know, just to be clear.

This new Renault Laguna is beautiful.

Oh dear Lord, do I have to stick IMO after every sentence? Uh duh, I THINK it's ugly, and I'm no more right or wrong than you thinking it's beautiful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all.

Actually scrap that, I'm BSing. If you think that the Laguna is beautiful, then there's something wrong with you. Oh, IMO of course. Almost forgot that little addition again, oops. It's not a bad looking car, but beautiful is not the right word.

It's like two different people designed it. One man designed the front and the back, tried to make it interesting, sharp, a little bit fresh, and then someone else designed the middle completely. It looks like he got a ten pence coin, drew round that, stretched the edges a bit, and just stepped back,

"Yes, I am a design God."

Not really, it's crap. I was expecting something a bit more exciting than that. Estate looks really nice though.

The Estate rear looks really good ! but hatchback & saloon front & rear look dull but has I said its not the first time is it ??

I think that the car isn't so bad but it isn't so good...It hasn't something special and gives me an acid taste...The interior is far better than the interior of the previous model..From the rear i like the two tail pipes and this makes the car more aggressive.I wouldn't buy it because there are many cars which are more beautiful from this one..Surely.

I never look at the European part of the forum. Maybe I should more often!!

This thing is outstanding!! I have no idea how French cars are because us colonists haven't gotten once since the 80's. I do remember them having a reputation for being dreadfully rustworthy, rather unreliable, and horribly built.

I assume things have gotten better in those departments? Obviously the styling is utterly outstanding. That is one of the finest looking wagons I've ever seen. Period.

Looks pretty boring to me. The back end looks like a Mercury Milan. The front end looks like a....I dunno, sheet of taupe carpet, it's just boring. The wagon ain't bad, although it just kinda looks like a SLIGHTLY more sporty version of the Mazda 6 in my opinion. Odds are because it's European and they almost all think their cars are way better then they actually are because they have leather seats and a possibly neat looking dash, it will be way the hell more expensive then most other cars in it's league.

This car isn't BAD by any means. But by no means is it great.

Okay... replace beautiful with gorgeous... and my opinion with fact.

"beautifullness" is a really subjective matter. so, your opinion never gets to be called a "fact"... except by you :)

as for myself, even if it's a bit "special", I don't like the design of this car at all (or of any Renault, lately), like I already said. but again, it's personal and I'm not imposing it to anyone.
