I think you can have ANY motorbike engine you want, westfield normally supply you with the kit, so the engine choice is your. The baove could well be an option.
Yeah it beat the zonda, by 2 or 3 seconds! 18 times cheaper as well!

Again russian, I'm still not getting what your talking about. Since I live in the U.S., we don't get that many really cheap, really fast cars. Focus SVT, MAZDASPEED protoge, Mini Cooper S, Dodge SRT-4, Nissan Sentra V-spec would be my choices. If you want to be real american, go with a nice V-8 stang. As for Second hand cars, you could probaly get a saleen or a mustang cobra or even an RX- 7.
Again, the best bet for a $25,000 is a nice big touring bike. A big Honda Goldwing is insainly comfertable and easy to drive. Hell, for 25K, you could get a Goldwing AND a sportbike to jet around in.

NO DOUBT A 240SX WITH A SR20DET SWAP, THROW A TURBO, INJECTORS, FUEL PUMP AND A NEW ECU IN IT AND HAVE 350+ HORSE TO THE WHEELS. BLOW AWAY CAMERO SS'S AND ANYTHING ELSE ON THE STREET. I HAVNE'T LOST YET, BESIDES TO A 600+ HORSE CORVETTE.

any sport bike evr made would probaly beat any of your cars. The slowest kawasaki ninja has a 0-60 in like 3 seconds. Andi it would still cost half the price of any of your cars.

Jun 11, 2003, 5:34 PM
there is a difrance between a car and a bike....
the bike cant go into corners such as cars .... the handling ability is bikes it much lower ..
but in straight line the bike surely beats cars in straight way ...i dont mean a 50 cc bike :)

I know, but i was talking about superbikes. My dad's first cycle was 125cc's. IT was so slow, it wasn't fast enought to go onto the freeway. His last bike, though, was a 750cc suzuki. He said it could out accelerate anything up to a ferrari. I could belive him, and his bike was a cruiser. Think about this......
Buell Blast
320 pounds
32 horsepower
Some car
3200 pounds
320 horspower!
This power to weight ratio is roughly the same as the Mercedes-Benz CLK55 AMG, give or take a few horsies and pounds. The base price of this car is about 75k. The base price of a buell blast is 5k. Even though bikes can't corner as well as cars, i'm sure a blast could destroy a CLK55 in a road course.

You wouldt beat my 340bhp cossie, it would be fun tho..... maybe you cold in a straight line (you say you tossed up against a 600hp vette but then, on curves, nuff said 8)
Anyway, it doesnt care, ur car sounds cool to me
The SR20 is a good bet, but what about an old Lancer Evolution (if you live where they can be easily had). You can't go wrong with a Lan-Evo

a bike have bad handling in corners ... thats why bikes cant beat great supercars in a track ..
but the bikes are faster in acceleration thats why they are faster at straight lines and highroads ...and traffic
anyways you can't compare a Bike to a Car ... !!
Mopar68
Jun 16, 2003, 7:42 PM
aren't engine swaps illegal? They probaly aren't, but someone told me that they are. I know you can't compare a bike with a car, but in my opinion, bikes are so much more fun. You don't have a stell cage around you. When you strap yourself into a cars, your in an enclosed cage (except for westfields, cathrhams, etc.). But when you sit on a bike, you become one. It's almost like running really fast. You feel more free. Theres also a sense of danger. thats what makes it so fun, but again, really dangerous.
The legality of engine swaps really depends on where you live. Here in Ohio I know of many people who have swapped engines without hassle. But I have heard that some states prohibit older engines being swapped in, and then there may be things such as required inspections and emissions testing. So, in conclusion, it depends.
is that car street legal?
mallon
Jun 17, 2003, 1:08 PM
Here in the UK - you can do whatever your want in terms of engines - definetly not agains the law, as long as you do the obvious MOT and other safetly laws.

I don't understand. For which porpouse you choose a car??? For Drag, Street challenge, for Autobahn or for rally??? The main question is, where would the owner drive his car. I don't think that the Bike (Yamaha or Suzuki jr whatever) would beat the Subaru on a serpantine, on the road with short straits and with great amount of corners with difrent angles.

He said that he needs the fastest car for 25kk, Fastest where????? That is why I asked the question. I dont think that those Kit cars you mentioned will be good at gravel roads.

i think he wanted it juts in general - the road i guess then.
My suggestion of either the Westfield XTR2 or the Radical still stand as the fastest given the price! - i dont thnik there's anything faster.

Yeah, it is in the UK anyway. -not going to be very practical though. And with only a few cm's groundclearance speed bumps arent going to be easy
still its bought for the track - and thats what it does well

The car that I have found is one of the best my eyes have ever looked at. Whoever said how old are the rest of you guys well I am 16.
The car I have found is a Nissain Skyline GT Turbo 1998 (R34)
July 1998 model, Skyline GT Turbo (R34/2500cc Neo 6 straight), 5 speeds semi-automatic transmission (on steering shifting up & down by thumb pressure, as on racing cars).
Large & comfortable 2 doors coupe, 5 seaters. Bright yellow body and grey interior.
One previous tidy owner car, 41000kms.
Features: AC, ABS, 4 wheel steering, Traction Control, Limited Slip Differential, HICAS, dual airbags, Sony CD stereo & way speakers. Performance exhaust, 17" alloys and low profile tires (235/45/17 front & 255/40/17 rear), 16" Nissan alloys & tires also provided. Front aero spoiler with Xenon crystal headlamps, side skirts & rear aero bumper/spoiler. Super Fine Coating. Remote central lock & remote engine starter.
And this car is on the market for £13000

wow - well worth 13K,
those 41000Km must have been 41K around a carpark! - and the car must be in generally non-perfect condition.
Definetly the cheapest R34 ive heard off.
If I had the choice id have a skyline black with black and red interior - thats the best ive seen.

Wow, Skyline is a very emotional name for me. But I think the car probably already got sold and I seem to not have the gumption to see what 13,000 pounds(would one say it that way? I don't have the key for the symbol) translates into American Dollars.
Whee! My first reply/post. What fun, eh? Ahm, lots of chit-chat in this topic. Fastest car for under 25 thousand dollars I am assuming is maybe best answered by a intesnely involved or professional tuner. Find an older car in good condition (unless you want a very co-op sleeper with authentic rust spots  ) and a solid engine from say 6 to 7 thousand dollars and simply spend the rest of you budget on modifications.
I know this might not attract too many people who consider themselves car enthusiest, but it is definitly a viable option for speed on a budget(not tha I myself would ever take on a task like that)
New cars under 25k that'll makes some people stare a bit after you rip away from that stoplight? My personal choice would be either an Subaru '04 WRX weighing in at $24,495 for a very cool, mean looking revamp of the apparently ledgendary rally inspired car with 227 neck popping horse power and a supremely priceless AWD or a VolksWagen GTI of the 1.8T type for $20,880 if you'd like a sunroof and Monsoon sound system. The GTI only has a 'mere' 180 horses/174 lbft of twist, but its very accesable, both about 5,000 rpm trhough a FWD drivetrain. Both cars I consider the best in looks in the feild. They are agressive and clean cut stock, but very customizable at the same time. Looks aside, the engineering on both is of the highest quiality, steals for the prices.
Ta-da! First post done!

You are right about GTi being the best choice, despite not that much power, i'd rater spent that on the GTi than an SRT-4, SRT-4 is faster, more agressive and very very very cheaply built, it's a good overall performer, but if it wasn't for the engine, it won't be performance at all, i think the same about Sentra SPEC V is fast, but it's not good
