What do you think about this prospect for 2008? I had heard rumours about the Fiat 500 Abarth before but this is new news to me.

EDIT: I have had a look and NV85 has already made a thread about the return of the Fiat 500 Abarth, but this offers new information as far as I am concerned, and things need to be kept up to date.

There are some crazy new exterior features on this. The wheels do look very small, with the rim size and all, the headlights have just gone back in time and look like pure perfect round ugly circles with a weird fog/indicator lamp/light underneath the headlight as well. The 2 door look is alright, but the rear window does look weird... Alright car anyway, but it doesn't really appeal to me as much. I'd like to see Fiat do better than that.

I wish it would stay true to the RR chassis setup.

looks okay with those stripes, but ill take it without those coverings and those stuff, even if the interior is ugly, i dont care, it looks awsome with those wheels, or probably ill get the new 500, add some power to it, change the wheels and im done...

From what i know the 500 will have these engines..
1200cc-60ps
1400cc-100ps
Now the abarth version will have this engine:1400cc-turbocharged with 150ps-21kg of torque
Also the fiat 500 abarth will have 6speed tranny and it will be more comfortable..
Maybe it will be and a cabriolet version..We will see...

I don't have any information about this engine..I think that is too big for the fiat 500 because the power is big for this car and i don't know if it can deal with it..I don't know what it will happen but it will be good..I am surely that the fiat 500 will have the engine with the 150ps..So we gonna see great abilities in the road..It will achieve great numbers in the road.

You've got it all wrong its not the Fiat 500 Abarth its the Abarth 500 ! Its not gonna have the Fiat badges on its gonna have Abarth badges instead thats because Fiat wants to create a sporty, upmarket appeal for the company.

Secondly I like it it looks mean and it will go head to head with the new Ka ST when it comes out (which BTW the Ka & 500 use the same chassis) so basically same car, same engines (If I read write in Auto Express) different body.

If this car has 180bhp, get ready for a pretty nippy car. Looks great too. I think the future of the brand new 500 is going to be quite a good one I think. Like it a lot, looks small and spritey. Hopefully it's cheap aswell.

I know which engine will be in the fiat 500..But we will see if the engine will be this with the 180ps....I didn't tell to you that it will never come out with the engine of the 180ps..But i haven't heard for this engine you say....The grande punto in the other hand will have this engine..

wow...too bad none of these cars come to the US/Canada. There would be direct competition for the Smart car...or for this model...the Smart Fortwo Brabus.
