different minirals, ie iron, zinc, etc.. gives you a wax based color for each, so hence you get so many different colors... or hmmm maybe its just a figment of our imagination, and we have been trained since little amibas to imagine different colors.

Brettzilla
Aug 05, 2005, 5:08 PM
Quite simple really. The integral just describes the area under a curve, set between certain limits. In this case the curve is dx/x. now after integration between the 2 limits, the resulting area is equal to e or 2.71828..... which is a real number.
Why did you have to bring calculus up?

http://mathworld.wolfram.com/images/equations/PythagoreanTheorem/equation1.gif(1)
Many different proofs exist for this most fundamental of all geometric theorems. The theorem can also be generalized from a plane triangle (http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Triangle.html) to a trirectangular tetrahedron (http://mathworld.wolfram.com/TrirectangularTetrahedron.html), in which case it is known as de Gua's theorem (http://mathworld.wolfram.com/deGuasTheorem.html). The various proofs of the Pythagorean theorem all seem to require application of some version or consequence of the parallel postulate (http://mathworld.wolfram.com/ParallelPostulate.html): proofs by dissection rely on the complementarity of the acute angles of the right triangle, proofs by shearing rely on explicit constructions of parallelograms, proofs by similarity require the existence of non-congruent similar triangles, and so on (S. Brodie). Based on this observation, S. Brodie has shown that the parallel postulate (http://mathworld.wolfram.com/ParallelPostulate.html) is equivalent to the Pythagorean theorem.

Well after countless hours of sitting in the bathroom, Bernoullies equations, integrating etc.... I finally realized that at first there was a fish who put an egg and this egg gave way to a fish with litlte legs, who laid an egg, and gave way to a walking fish, which laid an egg that gave way to a feathery walking fish....blah blah blah, until an egg was laid by an animal that looked like a chicken but wasnt and from there hatched waht we now call a chicken... so technically the egg came first...(the above statment is based on hours of mathimatical equations... expalining evolution in only 4 sentences for more imformations go to dont waste your time.com)
and thats the right answer.

Beliving in the big bang theory the universe is expanding, and contracting at the same time, it expands infnetly but contracts into black holes, and so it goes on... Ill wait until I understand string theory better then ill answer this question.

String theory is a model (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_theory) of fundamental physics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physics) whose building blocks are one-dimensional extended objects (strings) rather than the zero-dimensional points (particles) that are the basis of the Standard Model (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_Model) of particle physics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Particle_physics). For this reason, string theories are able to avoid problems associated with the presence of pointlike particles in a physical theory. Study of string theories has revealed that they require not just strings but other objects, variously including points, membranes, and higher-dimensional objects.
Interest in string theory is driven largely by the hope that it will prove to be a theory of everything (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory_of_everything). It is a possible solution of the quantum gravity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_gravity) problem, and in addition to gravity it can naturally describe interactions similar to electromagnetism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetism) and the other forces of nature. Superstring theories (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superstring_theory) include fermions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fermion), the building blocks of matter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matter). It is not yet known whether string theory is able to describe a universe with the precise collection of forces and matter that we observe, nor how much freedom to choose those details the theory will allow. No string theory has yet made falsifiable (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falsifiability) predictions that would allow it to be experimentally tested.
I dont know...to answer your question.

Of course there are theories that the universe is one giant loop. that eventualy if you travel far enough, you'll end up where you started.
String theory, as far as i know, is a mix of LSD, acid and science. But who knows, atoms weren't discovered until the last couple hundred years.
Q: do you think god/divine being (trying to be inclusive here) could microwave a burrito so hot, that even he couldn't eat it?

no because he is all powerful and could cool it instantly
does anybody besides me think evolution isnt true
speedracer04
Aug 05, 2005, 5:30 PM
Once again. That depends on how strong your belief is. If you believe he is the creator of heaven and earth, I dont think a burrito (no matter how hot it is) would be a big deal. But if you believe that he was a mortal man doing extraordinary things, then I would have to say yes. But I dont really know. I dont want to get into any religious disputes with anyone.
