With the Gallardo Superleggera (http://www.worldcarfans.com/features.cfm/featureid/1070413.001/country/ecf/wcf-test-drive-lamborghini-gallardo-superleggera) (superlight) just out on the market, Lamborghini is developing a Superleggera version of the Murcielago as well. Racing its quick laps at the Nürburgring, the lovely sound of the V12 can be heard all over the village of Nürburg.
The weight reduction comes from swapping out a number of components with carbon fiber bits, like the door panels, engine cover, wing, mirrors and the central tunnel covering. Lamborghini is expecting to loose about 100-150 kg with this operation giving the Superleggera a weight of 1500-1550 kg instead of the 1665 kg of the LP640.
Whether the gigantic wing in the back will be an option like on the Gallardo, or whether it will be standard is uncertain. But with power likely to be reaching 700 bhp and with the lighter body it can be expected that the Superleggera will reach a top speed of 350 km/h in which case it could use as much help as possible to keep it on the track.
We hope to see the Murcielago Superleggera on the motor show in Frankfurt this September.

i laughed at that thing when i saw the "colour combo" but lol, it looks somehow funny...the spoiler, im not sure, it looks okay, because some murci tuners did something like that too, not hamann, its very nice, but in this, im not sure, looks weird, but hmmm, i think this is going to turn out to be looking pretty good

It's badass but who'll buy it? Nobody buys a Murcielago to take it to the track anyhow, they buy it to carry their Chihuahua around in Los Angeles and being gangster.

I think the spoiler's perfect! This means maybe Lamborghini is going back to their insane roots, where every part of the car was an edge, the engine wanted to eat off your face, and the spoiler was basically a loveseat.

sounds nice, but the car just looks like... out of proportion. that wing is bloody huge, way too big...
i think it'd be a better idea if they did an LP640 Superleggera... the LP640 is a much sexier car than the standard Murciélago

Lush! I love it, beautiful colour, and even if the black doors will be painted for production, I kinda like them too! The spoiler is fine, but I would prefer it just a tad smaller...

I think that's a pretty good car. It's very nice the spoiler.I think that with the carbon fiber parts the top speed will reach 350km/h.Also the weight has lowered to 1500kg from 1665kg.I think that is a supercar.

That is brilliant. That is a fantastic car. The wing looks class on the back and the colour looks amazing aswell. Lightweight stuff is very welcomed. 700bhp and 350km/h is totally crazy. Superleggera Roadster version on the cards aswell? Or maybe not, even so I'm looking forward to this.

It is an LP640.
Anyhoo, I hope they re-design the spoiler. They won't but a boy xan dream, lol. It just doesn't match the rest of the car. The murci has always been a very edgy design, and that spoiler is very rounded and curvy. It doe's look like a bit of an after thought, but then technically it is.

I believe the spoiler will be an option that you can choose to add to the car. The spoiler on the gallardo superleggera was a like a $3000 extra.

Well, Fx55, I can't see your pics on page one for your second post... anyways, Nice pic for your first post in this thread, Now they have a Murcielago Superleggera... I say the Gallardo Superleggera is much better, the spoiler just ruins this one but the carbon hood looks very nice.

Wow, this is very impressive, if you put the spoiler with the Gallardo Superleggera, it wouldn't look that nice, but if you put it with the Murcielago Superleggera then i think it looks better with the spoiler. Anyways, it looks really good, it should be more faster now thanks to its weight reduction, can't wait for the official specs and pics to come.

Love the entire car, what a paint job!!
The wing, to me, is a very nice accent. It really flows with the car, and since it is neccessary for it to stay on the ground, I am very happy it is that one.

oh, so those 2 pics were the ones on the rear, i saw them, looks pretty good, but i just cat believe how they tend to "cut" the license "plate" and still get to drive the car lol, but it looks pretty much like the normal LP640, just with a few more horses and some more torque, some crazy detailed seats, a spoiler and some bit more

The spoiler is a little to big IMO, but if it's faster the a Murcielago who cares. Gallardo version is almost as aggod as a Ferrari, this might come close to a 599 GTB. They're amazing cars. I'm an admitied Ferrari fanboy.

IMO it looks very naaaace. The spoiler adds some taste to the already crazy good car.

wow this is funny. the looks on the car is practically the LP640 with a spoiler. I guess the designers had a great time doing thing. Performance would probably be faster.

I like it, even the spoiler, it just needs to be a little lower. But I don't see why lambo is puting another car in its line up they all ready have the LP640?:-k

I agree about the spoiler though, it's a little high.
