no not Brabus, but Barabus.
You may remeber a good while back there was news of a new car that could do 0-60 in 1.67. Packing 1005bhp. The Barabus TKR
http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/articles/barabus_tkr.asp
now it had its debut at the Britsh Motor Show, i was even there for it. But there was no media coverage of it. Strange. You'd think one of the most amazing cars ever would have journalists flocking to it. While at the stand it was off limits, you could only look at it. There was not even any information, or anyone to ask questions to.
Barabus claimed their car had been in development for at least 10 years. Now that leads to more questions. Were did they get the money to develop a car over 10 years. Also to make a car you have to test it, and usually while testing a car people get spyshots. 10 years and no spyshots to mention. even odder.
Barabus had a website too, with contact information. Unfortuanatly i never saw it. Numerous sites sent e-mails requesting more information. Not one got a reply. After the Barabus TKR had been unveiled the website disapeared, though what did remain was a website hosting page.
Also if you check the link at the top, Barabus stated that in 4 months customers would recieve their first delieveries. First how were customers supposed to buy the car, when there was no way to buy the car. 6 months later today and yet no news at all of a single TKR.
All of this leads to the big question, what happened them.
Was it a joke, did they go bust. Were did they go.
I found a link on the internet to their site and this is what came up.

hmm, not looking good. So what is your opinion on this.

hmm weird, i do remember the brand Barabus, with their crazy spirit to beat the Veyron, but heck, maybe they will act like Marcos, how its spelled, they was a sucsess then they went bust and now they are still back...maybe the situation on the sucses before is different, but maybe...hmm, ill see

ha, when i clicked on this thread i thought there was a typo in the thread, i thought it was the Brabus and i'm like why would the brabus disappear after just been released recently. lol.
anyways, well that's unusual, i wonder why it disappeared... and yeah, that car make was really determined to beat Veyron's record or something like that. and lol, that website had so much crap on it, it had nothing at all to do with the barabus... i'm also wondering why it actually disappeared... they probably deleted their own website or something like that... Cars like the Porsche 911 have been around for a long time, and they're still around today... But this car disappearing?? weird...

I reckon the same thing will happen to the SSC... They're all wanna-be supercars but they've always got too much missing to lauch them into production...
It probably secretely attepted to beat the Veyron's record, but failed miserably... The car no longer had a goal, given that it probably had hopless handling.
That car was an ugly thing too...

The SSC is far from a wanna-be. Its the real deal. The people there know what they're doing. Breaking the veyrons record is just a bonus, to making such a great car. It beat the enzo in salom race. No wanna-be could do that.

I laugh at the enzo, the new 911 turbo (tiptronic) is faster than it. It is complete overrated and of course looks worse than a chris bangle chasis!

Bah its gotta be some sort of scam. A guy made a few photoshops of a mad car and made up some amazing specs for it and said it had been in the making for 10 years, and takes orders for the car. Then disappears with everyones money. Simple.

Hmmm....if they've gone that was kinda sly, but also kinda funny. They came strutting onto the car scene thinking that they will get the fastest car in the world award and they get peanuts. I reckoned they were genuine, but then they realised that they're car wouldn't sell/wouldn't work so they just faded out into the darkness, without anyone noticing, but Sonicadg did, so Barabus, you've been found out. And wasn't this Jewish murderer called Barabbus or something?
I'm kinda disappointed that it's come out this way, it would have been fun to see what the TKR could have done.

The enzo is a 5 year old design ? I bet I could laugh at your computer because it doesn't have a dual core multi layet processor with 2GB RAM, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good computer.
I'm not sure, but I think Barabus didn't go bust, there like looking for an investor or something. Not sure, but I remember seeing pictures of the car at the motorshow, it didn't even have mirror in it's wing mirrors, I found that a bit worrying lol.

Ya, if it hasn't already happened. I think the giant "I'm faster" competition should just stop. It's really starting to get on my nerves.

lol, that would be the world's worst marketing stunt then. Disappearing and reappearing somewhere where you weren't well known in the first place, that isn't a viable business option. Would work for McDonalds though, lol.

You could be right about it secretely attempting to beat the Veyron and failing. But I honestly think the whole thing was BS. They're attention whores. They claimed 0-60 in 1.67 seconds, yet they didn't state if it was mph or km/h. As for the SSC, I think that is definitely not a wanna be supercar. It out performs pretty much every supercar, the guys at SSC know what they're doing. And they don't do stupid things like make their website dissapear and post no media or updates of the car. They update all the time with new videos and information.

Well I'm going to Top Marques Monaco in a few days, and the SSC is supposed to be present... I'll report, if you will, if their looked like there was any "action" on their stand and if the car is "real", as in there is not bits missing of it lol.
However, Barabus is not on the list of exhibitors, you'd expect them to be though if they had something proper to show... Barabus is DEAD.
